Stevenson another master of the non fight like alot of great fighters have been.

Where was this aggression earlier from DLS? After 4 or 5 it seemed even regardless of the horrendous commentary but Stevenson really did take over.

Not a virtuoso by any means. Hard to fight someone who runs and holds but it is very effective. Other fights Stevenson has looked better...I think DLS speed bothered him early.

Whattever can't win 'em all spectacularly.......he won the fight...probably outlanded De Los Santos by 50 punches...

But then again that why I said I appreciate Floyd more and more...because he wouldn't only win easy he would dominate...

Stevenson didn't land a single noteworthy punch. Neither did. What can you show as a HL?

This guy isn't close to being as good as PBF. But I guess for TR it's worth a try to get us to believe he is.

Well that was awful. Both guys did fuck all for 12 rounds. This was easily one of the worst fights in a title match. Dear lord.

Was just thinking if TR's goal was to generate interest in a Shakur /Navarrette matchup, the night couldn't have gone worse. If for some reason they wanted to steer fans away from the idea, it was a bullseye.

No one, even Shakur fans, ever said he was PBF level. Of course TR would say he is. They're his promoter, what do you expect?

Anyway, I think Shakur is the best lightweight in the world, but he was definitely disappointing tonight.

This fight shows me if Stevenson faced Lopez he'd freeze up and stink it out, whether win or lose

With Davis he has a big edge in height and reach so he'd be extra cautious but probably more effective offensively

Shakur would have to be an underdog against Teo at this juncture.

I still think he'd rise to the occasion and outbox Stank.

I assumed Shakur was taller but tonight he was listed as 5.7. Tank is close to 5.6 they're both midgets. I don't get what the big fuss is about Shakur. He doesn't have power, he's not tall, lacks that killer instinct. Tank has the power to hurt Shakur and I don't see a 1 inch height advantage being a big factor vs tank who's knocked out taller guys like Garcia(5.10). At this point I take Teofimo, Davis and Haney over Shakur.

Can't believe more people aren't claiming robbery over that Naverette fight. I knew before the fight was over they were going to rob Conceicao and I told my wife as much. I knew there was no way they were going to give that guy his win.

I thought Stevenson lost as well. I thought he lost 1-5 because he didn't start throwing punches til the 6th rd and he didn't exactly pitch a shut out in the rounds he did. Of course I knew the judges would give him the fight as well, such is the politics of boxing.

Pretty bad card all around. At least Conceicao made a slightly entertaining fight slipping Nav's punches and then slapping Nav all around the ring. His stamina was shit though. I thought Conceicao would lose because he was gassed out by the 6th round but managed to still outbox Nav. Even with the two knock downs--the first I think was more of Conceicao taking a knee and the second should have been ruled a slip--I still had Nav losing this fight big. Conceicao made him look like a bum.

Every elite fighter has flat performances. It's not like Shakur struggled or was ever in danger of being upset, he just had an underwhelming victory.

I think he'd be in better form for Tank. Not gonna lie, it's possible Davis beats him, but the time would have to be now.

Shakur will be in his prime for awhile. Davis is pushing 30, and he doesnt live a clean life diet wise. He's only got a few more years before his speed and explosiveness declines, and then he'll be even more vulnerable.

So if Tank's gonna beat Shakur, it'd have to be within the next 1-2 years.

I won't be delusional about Haney vs Shakur. It's possible that Haney beats Shakur at 140. We'll see how he looks against Regis.

I thought Haney fought scared until I
last night watching Shakur. He fought like De Los Santos had a knife.

He did. I'm a fan, but I can't make excuses. It was disappointing.

Granted, De Los Santos has pop, but Shakur was staying cautious like he was in there with Edwin Rosario.

It wasn't a good look for Shakur, and he needs to redeem himself.

Shakur is never gonna be Floyd or Whitaker level good. That much is very apparent. But I never expected that in the first place.

I'm not ready to write him off. I expect him to beat quality fighters in the future.

Didn't see the fight but was surprised to see how highly regarded Shakur is rated by some of you even though he hasn't fought any top level competition yet. It's obvious he's talented but I don't see him as a generational talent and we still don't know about his intangibles. He might prove me wrong but he needs to start facing the big guns as he's close to being irrelevant right now (yes I know it s not 100% his fault but if he need to take a pay cut to make the big fights happen then so be it, boxing is not a fair sport unfortunately).

What?? Floyd was basically the master at winning easy but not dominating, even against mediocre foes...

You can't find a single fight in Mayweather Jr's career where he performed as poorly as Stevenson did last night

Pretty much this....Floyd didn't dominate vs Castillo, Maidana 1, Dela Hoya, Pacquio, Cotto and Famoso Hernandez. Very close fights.

The closest I can think of is Victor Sosa. Floyd beat Sosa like 9-3, but it was unimpressive.

I vividly remember like 99% of the forum saying after the Sosa fight that Tszyu would murder Floyd at 140. Floyd would have gone in as a clear underdog had he faced Tszyu after that fight.

Not saying Shakur is on the same trajectory, but I'm not ready to pick everyone over Shakur just yet.

Teofimo, yeah, Teo would be a bad opponent for Shakur. As long as the Loma/Taylor Teo shows up, Shakur would lose.

Pac, DLH, and Cotto were NOT close fights, and I fuckin hate Floyd..

ESPECIALLY not Pac and Cotto. The Hell are you talking about?

Famoso Hernandez? Lmao! Floyd broke his hand, and still won clearly.

He needs to focus on Dec. 9. He'll look like a jackass if Regis beats him.

I was at the Sosa fight. Mayweather Jr won easy and landed many more punches than Stevenson did last nite.

Mayweather Jr went into the bout with an injured right hand and STILL landed more right hands than the amount of left hands Stevenson THREW.
