A team like Chelsea, they look hopeless as a team but when you go through the team they're still individually an impressive squad for the most part, it's just the whole which is a bit of a disaster...with United it's the whole and the parts, incredibly expensive and all a bit meh or mid table individually

 

As I was saying, considering what was on the line, it was all very sedate.

I'm tired of hearing about "The Glazers" ..... they've spent fortunes and can't even get out of a group -even into the Europa - featuring Galatasaray and Copenhagen.

Feel very sorry FOR NUFC but this is what happens at this level....IT'S ALL stemmed from a bogus penalty decision in Paris which was all about keeping a marquee name in the tournament.

There's no room for naievety at this level and Newcastle, this season, have an Amir Khan approach ..... Just flailing and kind of hoping they can out-flurry and out-heart other teams.

Still gutted. Was at the game last night and felt sick when that second Milan goal went in. I felt we were a bit naive at the end. I get why they went all out for it, but I'd have taken the UEFA Cup. We'd have been no worse than fourth favourites to win that

We're just running on empty. Injuries have crippled us but at that level, in that group, our limitations have been exposed. We're just not quite good enough to compete with the very top teams. Yet.

That goal was like so many ive seen celtic concede in person in europe- whole pitch opens up like the red sea and you know its a goal 10 seconds before it goes in. Me in row ZZZ yelling 'aaargh fuck' & banging the metal wall behind me the moment they intercept the ball in their own half

 

Even for top English teams there seems to be a bit of a learning curve in the CL, it takes a few seasons. Its not necessarily a quality gulf - Newcastle regularly play sides as good as AC Milan- but its...something

 

We've no chance of finishing top 4 this season. Injuries have ruined us. And will not spend much on Jan. We're at our FFP limit.
