It's the same all the time. Brazil have been living off their historical aura, like Slice said, for about twenty years.

Brazil's decline has been one of the sad aspects of modern fitbaw....even through the 70s and 80s when they didn't manage to bag a world cup they were still 'Brazil', with an aura and uniqueness. I don't think they even have that any more

The 80s Boston Celtics truly were the ugliest team in sports history.

There's an old joke that goes that they beat the Lakers cause the Lakers were out partying and fucking all the time (which is true) while Celtics were too ugly to get laid and had more time to train.

Not a bad summary. It's remembered for Seaman's mistake which is unfair.

I recognised Hurlock immediately.....I saw him play for Milwall in a 2-1 defeat they suffered Vs Arsenal back when you could still watch football on terrestrial TV.

Didn't know him by name just remembered that face.

Turns out that was 1989.....I still remember that Hurlock hit a shot over the bar.

Which of England's losses are remembered for anything other than something was botched?

Germany 4-1 England, SA 2010 struck a note that way

Nobody wanted to take the obvious bait.

They all said it had been simply not good enough....England went in at half-time 2-1 down, should have been 2-2 but the papers and TV all agreed there had been no justification for England's kamikaze approach in the 2nd half.

    It was quite refreshing..

Are you kidding? Lampard's missed goal was the big talk. If they called it correctly it would have been a different game etc.

Am absolutely convinced that somebody, either on their phone or over the PA, has just played the Germanic exhortation to war that was played in Gladiator, at the QPR game. Around the 48 minute mark.

    Deffo somebody roaring in German..

He's weirdly good for England though, and has been quite consistent too. It's like he has a talent transplant before each major tournament. He's also the best English goalkeeper I've seen in penalty shootouts, which is a good thing for obvious reasons.

Haha yeah if i had that kind of money i would certainly want a place with nicer weather and surroundings. That said no matter how nice the architecture is or how how opulent it is i don't want something far away from civilization. If there aren't many people arounds chances are you're going to be spending most of your time in just a few rooms, so having 500 square feet or 50 thousands makes little difference. Sure i'll take a big home with lots of amenities but not if it's isolated.
