Henderson at Ajax having taken a self-inflicted giant shit all over his carefully crafted queer hero knee bending status.

    Sad.

Sometimes these working class lads would be best advised to just say ought and let these things slide.

You can never do right and woe betide you try to argue the toss, you wind up like Barton.

Trippier is 33 so I can understand a low ball offer but there is low ball and there's taking the piss....

I thought he is/was a bit overrated, he was the best in class at a busy Leeds and had one and a half standout games for England at a major tournament and was immediately branded a star...not to say he's poor, West Ham is about right

Yeah agreed. He's a good DM, certainly not a bad player but not a star. Decent replacement for Rice, though obviously not as good.

Lived local to me for much of his late years. A proper old school darts man - how he lived as long as he did is beyond me.

The CEO gave an interview after NUFC published accounts showing significant commercial growth and made a throwaway comment about FFP and the possible need to sell to generate funds if required. Cue a week of ridiculous speculation and attempts to portray a firesale, including Bayern trying to play silly cunts as you see here.

I think if you think of it net of resale value it makes sense. Sign a 22 year old for 20m you can expect (on average, ymmv) to be able to recoup that in a few years. Trippier is worth zero in 3 years. Plus over those 3 years he'll be declining. A worse player than now in 6 months, worse again in 12. So he's better than our hypothetical 22 year old right now but as an asset he's worth way less. Especially if his wages are high.

He's run out of energy he says. May take some time off before going back into management. Maybe gets the Germany job. Surely they're not looking at Gerrard to replace him. Gerrard couldn't lace Klopp's boots.

Sorry to see Klopp leave, I will miss his version of Liverpool and the football he has pushed, plus his presence in the league

Alonso looks good so far, maybe a little early...I like the cut of Di Zerbi's jib, he's got the mixture of tactician plus angry little Italian man thing going for him. Surprised, I would have expected Klopp to stay in post until the German national job comes up again.

Yeah that caught me off guard. Klopp is a great personality and Liverpool have been great to watch under him. Would be nice to see him go out with another Premier League title, though fucking City...

That's perfectly logically, IF you need to sell him to generate funds. NUFC are behind the 'big six' commercially but they are closing the gap on Spurs and quickly - the CL and new sponsorship and Adidas kit money isn't included in this year's accounts and they've still added near £80m to the balance sheet in 18 months.

They'll sell it they have to and they won't if they don't. They said it would take five years or so to get close and they'll stick to the plan.

Klopp has become a real cunt and I've gone from really liking him to absolutely detesting him. Can't argue with his record, though. Great manager and astonished he's for the off.

You get an elite full back for buttons. Even if you get another season out of him, he's not expensive at that price.

Depends how limited their FFP headroom is, I guess. Or whether the EPL would have the integrity to get tough with the owners either way

Depends what contract you need to give him. 3 year contract at current wages is another 19m. So 32m dead loss for maybe 1 year of play at requisite standard.
