I think you're in trouble alright and it's baffling .... Palace are, so far, staying up. There's no way Brentford or Palace are "bigger" sides. It's a slippery slope, you get into trouble, attendances drop, so-called investors get cold feet and before you know it you're in League 1 with 2 men and a dog showing up at games.

This is a club who 10 years ago were turning over big names.

We are shit. Brentford have a better team and are for all intents and purposes a much better run club than us. I get it all changes and we might get things together for a bit and do some things, but I have to be honest, Brentford really do it right. I hate them but ffs they've adopted a really simple model and just smashed it out of the park, fair play to them. Every time they have this dude who is killing things, they just seem to sell him and then replace him with someone better. I remember it was Fernando Trotta, then it was Olly Watkins, as soon as he went everyone was like "ah it was good whilst it lasted", and then they signed Toney straight from there.

Just saw the highlights. If they weren't playing at Anfield Núñez might have been warranted in asking for an investigation into the woodwork. :Jest:

This board, man. You finish last season thinking 'we're 3 or 4 players away from doing something here'. After two transfer windows, with the biggest cash cushion in europe, we're considerably weaker now than last May.

We've the chairman's son assisted by Gordon Strachans son doing recruitment! Strachans sons only prior professional experience was running a golf shop! All 7 members of our board, excluding Dermot Desmond and his son, are pals from St Alyoious High a street up from the hotel you stayed in. That St. Al's business management higher is doing alot of heavy lifting.

Every year they sit like chesire cats at the AGM, announce a profit, celebrate being slightly less shite than the basketcase over in Govan and claim we're one of the best run clubs in europe

Celtic fans are getting some amount of stick for being 'entitled' but we know shite when smell it

What's worse is that Postecoglu was prepared to take his show on the road to a club with notorious tight hands rather than go through death by 1000 cuts at Celtic. He hasn't changed his style one iota but he'd have been squeeeeeezed to death if he stayed at Celtic.

Ironically they probs made money in his transfer too.

The mystery to me is why Rodgers came back given that shit recruitment is why he left in the first place. He was asked directly that by fan media. Oh ive reviewed the systems here and im very impressed by how much they've improved. Really? You saw Peter & Gordons sons slouched there fresh from running a golf shop and thought 'yup, this is a modern, data driven recruitment system'. Brentford probably poach data analysts from the city of London, I doubt our boys even glance at the statsbomb pizzas

Maybe but that wasn't my perception. If he wanted a payday there were much easier, less baggage laden ones going. I think he felt like he could do something. Big mistake

Not a payday. Just staying conspicuous while waiting for something bigger. He'll throw his hat in the Liverpool ring this Summer, mark my words.

Im hearing there are changes to FFP laws getting phased in? Wages will need to be 70% or less of 'football income' within a couple of years

Anyone got the scoop on exactly what that means?

Apparently one of several factors leading to a dry market this jan

Haven't read anything about it yet. Surely the big clubs will have ways around whatever it is the new rules are.

Yeah i guess they find a million ways around things. If they count stadium food sales as part of income they could have a stand selling burgers for 20 grand a pop and just claim they constantly sell out.
