Yeah movie is kind of old now. I actually dug up my review out of the old movie forum and copy and pasted it here. Warning Spoilers. BEFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD SCORE - 7.5 PREMISE - Andy (Philip Seymour Hoffman) has planned the perfect crime and just needs his brother Hank (Ethan Hawke) to execute it. However, the job means that Hank must rob his own mom and dad's (Rosemary Harris, Albert Finney) jewelry store. The younger sibling actually goes through with the crime, his mom ends up dead, and his dad swears he'll find the killer by any means necessary. CRITIQUE - Good drama movie. You feel the characters getting deeper in a hole and start wondering how they'll get out. The movie was chopped up in some spots kind of like with Pulp Fiction but on a much smaller scale. Rewatchability - 3/5
It's a good movie. One of the last movies made by the great Sidney Lumet (12 Angry Men, Network, Dog Day, ect). I didn't it particularly great or rewatchable, but it's worth one viewing.
It was very good, although I didn’t not to see a shot of PSH’s pasty ass. Just focusing on Marisa Tomei was fine.
If you like this, I also recommend A Simple Plan with Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton and Bridget Fonda It’s from the late 90s.
