So basically it's sanctioned up until the night of the fight when they pull the bait and switch and say it's a exhibition

He just needs to land one flush shot. I don't think he does, but let's not pretend that Paul is any good. He's absolute garbage. If Mike lands one flush shot, he wins.

I wish, but feel like it's highly unlikely. 60 years old. Idk if 60 year olds have ever knocked out anyone save for that one old man who decimated the guy with the man bun.

Mike isn't an ordinary 60yr old, though. I agree with your general proposition, though. Great though it would be to see Paul brutally iced, it's very unlikely.

i just hope paul comes out unscathed as he has a promising career ahead of him as a boxer/influencer. a man who stands to make hundreds of millions. takes plenty of gumption for a boxing novice to face a hall of fame former heavyweight champion.

 

Money has always made a mockery of this sport in many ways but this is a new low. Tyson is old and very diminished, probably has very decreased punch resistance as well (can't get the Holyfield Belfort fight out of my head). I understand both will make a shitload of money for this fight but I don't like the image it projects to potential fans. It has a very WWE feel to me. Gimmicky and greedy. I'm pretty sure Paul will win and will use that to grow his business. I don't blame him but it saddens me that he'll be outselling, by a good margin, real professionnal boxers with world class skills. I heard he pays undercard fighters very well and is concerned with fighters getting properly paid, so it's not all bad...

I get the feeling that Tyson is gonna get told to go easy on Jake and make the fight look close to a competitive match. If Mike fights like he did in the RJJ exhibition fight he’ll wreck Paul.

 

This will be a glorified sparring match. Neither guy is gonna go out to try to kill the other. They’ll put on a show to just entertain the crowd and take home the big bucks.
