This. Relying on the Brand name instead of your fighters' star power is going to be a problem in the long run, if he keeps paying them peanuts. Fighters are going to stop coming to the UFC and then no one will give a shit, because fans don't give a shit about UFC 593278 or whatever it's going to be, they care about the particular match ups. If Saudi Arabia ends up making the best consistently fight the best while keeping the fighters paid and happy, then Dana is fucked.

Is UFC as popular as it was? I don't watch boxing or UFC anywhere near what I used to.

 

But the UFC format of the best fighting the best just isn’t sustainable….just look at their UFC 300 card coming up soon…it’s shit compared to UFC 100 & 200….PLUS its bs anyway “the best fighting the best” there are plenty of tune ups in the UFC…

Dana didn’t lie about some(most today) boxers padding their record 50-0 50kos, chasing the money….avoiding top opponents. Just look at 135-140 Haney, Tank, Teo, Shakur… look at Bud avoiding Boots….look at Canelo ducking Benevidez.

They are all entitled to a tuneup or 3…in between big fights but fuk Bud hasn’t fought in almost a year. Canelo hasn’t fought anyone worth shit since 2022…

Dana always needs an enemy to hate or talk down 2….back in 2005-6 he thought by now boxing would be long dead and the UFC would be #1….but nope

 

Indeed. Boxing fans criticize the sport more than anyone else and it's quite warranted. Dana White can pretend he's a fan but he has his own agenda, and its not one of making boxing better, it's to big up his own product via comparison.

For me that's a side issue, i don't care to watch a video of that blowhard talking about any subject.
