I think it’s strategic to avoid Benavidez. Canelo knows he’s towards the end of his career and he doesn’t want to give the young man the chance to put a dent in his legacy.

I don’t think the fight happens.

Munguia ain't beating shit. I'm convinced that he respects Canelo tooooooo much. He's just happy to be fighting his idol.

I predict that once Munguia feels the power on Canelo's counters, he'll become a "good boy."

Munguia will come to fight and press the action like always. He won't go out like a straight bitch like the last guy Alvarez faced

Wouldn't be surprised at all. It's not just about respect for Canelo himself, but i think sometimes they get reminded about the "opportunity" they were given (the payday) and fight differently than they normally would.

I dont see that way. Maybe I'm not as cynical as you. But I think given Canelo's last two performances Munguia could make it a long night for Canelo. I still make Canelo a clear favorite but wouldn't be shocked if munguia won a decision.

I expect Munguia to go for it, at least in the beginning

Mungia is too limited to win this imo. The gap in ability is glaring. I expected Canelo to win a decision in a rather tedious affair.

Canelo is a bit scared/worried about Benebidez….he’s probably thinking why fight him now at this late stage of my career.

He(monstro) is limited someone soon is going to come up roll him up n beat him. Time is my friend…no pay day..

Ahhh the old cliche that if a fighter isn't sugar ray he's limited. Who's gonna expose him at 168? Munguia? Canelo? The only one who could expose him is Beterbiev. Bivol is boring and a weight bully. Benevidez is not going to let Bivol pick him apart like midget Canelo. Benevide's clubbing caveman style may not be pretty but it is effective my friend.

bivol could make 168. weight bully? :duck: he'd be a strong favorite over benavidez

morrell would be problematic for benavidez

pacheco in a year or 2 could be competitive with benavidez

The weight bully comment was meant in a toungue-in-cheek way. Because his claim of fame is beating a smaller man. Dont take it at face value. I dont know enough about Morrel to say he would expose Benevides since he hasnt really fought anyone of notoriety. If and when he beats a serious opponent I can form an intelligent opinion of him vs Benevidez. At this point I just dont know how good he is. Same as Berlanga had people thinking he was a monster hecause he was koying bums.
