That was brutal. Destructive with both hands; almost felt sorry for Nery as that round developed.

That was gorgeous to watch. The short left in r5 was beautiful. No leverage at all yet perfectly executed. Nery was a dead man walking in the sixth. He was waiting to be knocked out and Inoue obliged.

Inoue was out of position in round 1 and got caught. After that he treated Nery like everyone else he fights.

Inoue got his bell rung good, but man he just hunts and kills.

Inoue had his first knockdown scare against a dangerous puncher but immediately went on to beat the shit out of Nery and gave him a dose of Japanese justice in round 6. The fight showed that Inoue makes adjustments right away and doesn’t panic when getting dropped. Another terrific performance by the Monster.

Man, that Japanese fighter showed some serious guts, right? Took a hit, bounced back up like a boss. Love seeing champs pushed to their limits like that. But let's be real, hearing about him stepping up to face Tank? That's a whole different ball game. Tank Davis packs a serious punch, and even with a catch weight, it's gonna be a tough ask for our guy after hitting the canvas from Neary. Still one of my favorites though.

Stank would knock out Inoue. He's much too big and powerful.

P4P, Inoue is leagues better than Stank.

Inoue is 31,…and for a lighter weight fighter, that is close to the end.

    Fantastic fighter.
Reminds me of Gomez back before he lost to Sal.

Inoue actually is very similar to Gomez, style-wise.

In fairness, he's the best puncher-boxer 118-122 has had since Gomez.

Indeed, that's what stuck out to me. Amazing how much power he can generate in such tight spaces.

Inoue’s performance against Nery sort of reminded me of Gomez vs Dong Kyun Yum when Gomez got too overly aggressive and got dropped in the first round. And then proceeded to show his dominance using his skills and stopped Yum the following rounds afterwards in a great showing.

I don’t understand why people keep bringing up Tank in the conversation knowing full well that he’s 4 weight classes above Inoue? It’s like asking for Tank to fight Canelo.

He's way more athletic and better handspeed than Gomez.

    Ya forgot Hamed.

Didn't watch this. Saw the highlights of the big punches only so far.

Glad Inoue was able to come back from that punch. It's not uncommon for such a big punch to throw a guy off the rest of the fight.

As I said before this fight, I am very big on Nery. I would be even bigger on him but for the cheating, but he was an extremely tough mofo in the 2015 on range.

I think Inoue is an all-time great. The backside of a career often determines where a guy ends up on the lists, but he really is a superb fighter.

I would disagree with that outside of handspeed. Gomez had quicker and more fluid footwork than Inoue and better defensive reflexes. "Way" more athletic is a gross overstatement. Gomez was one of the most athletic lighter weight class fighters ever.

As always, I urge you guys not to fall into recency bias. Gomez beat better fighters than Imoue, he never lost below 126, and he really didn't drop any ROUNDS at 122 until the Pintor fight, and he was faded when fought Pintor. Gomez deserves more credit on this forum.

His only true losses in his effective prime came at 126 against Sanchez and Nelson.

True, I like Inoue a lot and think he might be better than Gomez, but he never fought someone close as good as 126 lbers Sanchez and Nelson (even though his wins vs Donaire are better than a lot of person give him credit for). Unfortunately, there do not seem to be anyone at 122 or even 126 for him to prove hid true worth. Maybe Bam in a couple of years ??

If inou is looking to test himself against bigger foghters, i think a reasonable goal might be Loma.

Agreed. Loma isn't the type of fighter to maul and use a size advantage even he has one plus he probably only has a couple of fights left. If Inoue wins, it's a great feat and if he loses surely it would a good experience and not something that wouldn't set his career back all that much.

Inoue is still in his prime and Loma is well past his, so Inoue would have a shot at winning.

I don't care for Loma, and I think he was overrated as fuck during his prime, but in that prime he'd be far too much for Inoue. Just based on size.

I don't wanna get too carried away on Inoue. You guys are slobbing on him saying he would beat Gomez, but do we even know he would beat a Barrera, Morales, Fenech, or prime Rigo at 122? Fulton and Neary are not elite fighters.
