What I love about Scull is just how recognizable he is. Not only is he already one of the biggest names in the sport, but his physiognomy alone makes it obvious that he is someone special.

 

I already pre-ordered.

 

I actually bought it a few times so I could make sure I didn't miss any action all through the house.

 

I’m convinced that the reason for giving this guy the mandatory slot is because of the name Scull.

 

Lol that's what I was thinking. They just gave him a way out of the Benevidez fight in 2024.

Let's be honest here. Canelo fighting some tomato can for a mandatory? Look, we can't pretend the alphabet organizations are paragons of respectability. They're part of the problem. Do genuine boxing aficionados even give a second thought to belts these days? They're so watered down, it's hard to argue they hold any real significance anymore.

Belts are definitely losing importance, which isn’t good imo. If it’s not some undeserving guy somehow rising through the ranks to be food for one of the top guys, it’s a guy who doesn’t want to honor his mandatory of 2 plus years.

Social media popularity also plays a role. Guys like Tank don’t wanna fight to be the best, for instance. They just want to be famous celebrities and make easy bags with no risk attached.

Scull then began to share posts on his own personal social media pages suggesting the fight with Canelo is happening next.

However, AGON Sports have now told talkSPORT.com that this is not necessarily the case.

Their comments appeared to indicate that what may have been agreed is in fact a step-aside deal, though due to confidentiality they have not confirmed or denied this yet.

If a step-aside deal has indeed been agreed, then Scull will receive a payment to allow Canelo to fight somebody else next instead.

 

i never have sympathy for guys who take step aside money. if you really want the fight, you refuse and force the champions hand. lennox lewis took step aside cash a few times and still wanted to cry he was being ducked.

I know nothing about Scull. I'm not making a prediction, all I'm saying is that it would be fuckin typical for Canelo to lose to a spoiler in an upset and scupper a fight I'd be proper interested in with Crawford.
