I still find it hard to believe that they made a statue of Deontay Wilder before they made one for Hagler. Youd think that they would honor Wilder with a statue after his career was finished.
He was good for the city. Think of how many paydays he gave to local bus drivers, construction workers, and plumbers.
Yeah, it’s usually when they’re retired. Even the MJ one in Chicago went up when he was playing baseball. Marciano also didn’t get one in Brockton until 2012 (43 years after his death), and it was a gift from the WBC, so apparently Brockton is slow on statues.
