Hopefully the Scots will hang on for a draw, at the hour mark it's as much as they can hope for, Swiss missing a few opportunities...McGinn, Ralston looking poor enough

 

Kind of feel the Scots might look at that as one that got away. Still, some dignity rescued. Plus my £20 on Scotland or draw came in.

 

I always felt he was under deployed at Liverpool. Very Origi in that he never sulked and was always ready to try.

 

The Swiss are a much better side than Scotland. Their passing and movement looked really good at times. Put Scotland under heaps of pressure with and without the ball, resulting in Scottish players panicking, giving the ball away and having no other option but to kick the ball out of play when pressured, too. They're a test for most sides.

I don't want to jinx it but England have hardly conceded in group stage games under Southgate. At the last European Championships they didn't concede a goal in the group stage. I see it being another 1-0 England win. Most of the games go a similar way where England start strong and on the front foot, score, and then change things up.

 

I find it so annoying with England when those type of matches happen. They start on the front foot and look to make things happen, but then they can be gotten to. You can turn up the heat on them and they start to doubt and second guess themselves.

 

England will win 2-0.

If Ingerland are the favourites to win the tournament that bookies had them to be before a goal was kicked, teams likes Denmark are teams that they should be dominating.

Denmark are a good side. They are well drilled, well coached and much more than the sum of their parts. Ingerland are none of those things.

Even the teams that win major tournaments don't dominate every supposed lesser opponent. Sometimes they even lose a group stage game.

 

It isn't really about the result, here. It's the performances. They've been dreadful, twice. It is possible to play well and not win (see Denmark). England couldn't string three passes together. They looked like strangers.
