People are calling Southgate's reign in charge as successful. Reaching the 2018 World Cup Semi Final and Final of Euro 2020 were solid achievements, but I think defining something as successful is actually winning a major trophy. Despite England's performances being an eye sore, if they go to win this Euros, it'll be a success.

Toney's penalty was cold, I have to admit. I know he does the same thing in the Prem but to keep your eyes on the keeper the whole time in that kind of pressure situation takes some balls.

Nope. 88, 90 and 96, all three times in the group stage. First ever k/o tie this Wednesday. In the most beautiful stadium of Germany, in Dortmund!

Same. When their energy levels go up, they look difficult to handle. But Turkey impressed me too with their energy and willingness to get the ball forward. They're dangerous from set pieces and have pace.

England's average touch map. Fitbaw isnt quantum field theory, is it

    1) Stop playing a fucking right back on left wing

    2) make sure your your dickhead striker isnt playing centre midfielder.

    Sorted

I'm starting to think England can win it under the current tactics and style of play. It's not been pretty viewing and you need luck along the way, but up to now, luck is with England. Things are going their way.

Quality of play on both tournaments hasn't been superb. Very good teams yes, but nobody that you see and think "I wouldn't want to play those guys next".

Yes. There's no monsters in it. No great imagination, no real managerial brilliance either.

Won't Spain be missing a host of players for the France game through suspension and injury? Could cost them a place in the final.

France evens to be winner of tie. I take it that means they can win in 90 minutes, extra-time or penalties. I may stick a fiver on that.
