    Berlanga OVER Canelo???...

That's a Roy-Tarver 2 Level Upset in REED's Opinion...Not Quite Tyson-Douglas Level, Yet IN the Ballpark for Certain...

Tarver Jones jr 2 was pretty close betting odds wise. I remember betting jones jr by decision at even odds

It was shocking as fuck to see live, but Tarver was a proven commodity who'd beaten several ranked, legit guys and nearly won their first fight

Ed basura sucks and has beat NO one

I expect Canelo to get a KO here. Berlanga doesn’t even have a puncher’s chance.

I expect Berlanga to show about 3-4 minutes of balls, cojones, coraje, valentia...until that fake courage gives out and he start packing up to go home...

Much bigger upset than tarver vs Roy 2. Tarver had already showed that he was competitive with Roy, Berlange has showed nothing so far

Fat Joe might as well walk this palooka to the ring. Cause guaranteed he's gonna Lean Back when Canelo hits him.

keith connolly deserves manager of the millennium for getting Ed Basura an 8 figure cashout. especially after having beat absolutely no one in the top 25

Canelo would have to be completely shot to lose this one. I don’t see it.

Garcia has a chance against Lara due to the age factor. But if Lara has anytbing left, he schools him, imo.

I’d rather watch Canelo vs Lara 2 honestly. At least that sounds somewhat more interesting, even if Lara isn’t the same fighter that he was 10 years ago.

Serious question... In a perfect world, who would you most like to see Canelo face in the ring?

    Benevidez
    Morrell
    Crawford
    ?????

Legacy wise Benavidez and Morrell would be more ideal for Canelo.

I'm not thrilled about the Canelo vs. Berlanga fight. Berlanga hasn't done anything to earn a shot at Canelo and it’s clearly a cherry pick. As a Canelo fan... I'm not going to defend this choice. There's no excuse for him fighting Berlanga.

Having said that... we also have UFC 303 at the Sphere in Las Vegas which is an unprecedented and potentially groundbreaking event. The Sphere offers a unique experience that has never been seen before in sports.

In this context it's understandable why Canelo would avoid fighting a high-risk opponent like Benavides or even Crawford. The last time Canelo went head-to-head with the UFC... his numbers weren't great. So choosing Berlanga makes sense from a business perspective. It's a low risk, high reward type of fight. Competing with the UFC for viewership is a losing battle even for the king of ppv and the money isn't there.

Due to the Mexico vs Puerto Rico angle and it being Canelo, it’ll be an event. It’s easy money for Canelo. At this point in his career, I’m sure his advisors have told him to steer clear of guys like Benavidez, Morrell, or the winner of Bivol-Beterbiev.

    His advisors? Lol.

Nah, Canelo is ducking them without any advice needed.

Canelo struggled against both Munguia and Charlo showing his vulnerabilities. It's clear he understands that facing Benavidez would be a tough and potentially dangerous fight. The more likely outcome would be Canelo taking a serious beating at this stage of his career.
