Celtic turned down a 5th and final offer of £22m from Atlanta for O'Riley the other day who then publicly gave up signed some other guy. You start to hope. But now Brighton have officially put in a bid and there's no way an EPL club won't match Celtic's asking price after some jostling so cheeerio Matt :(

Its commentary on what a good player he is that its two of the smartest, best scouted clubs in europe who are in. Athletico Madrid also bid in january after seeing him first hand. He's a proper player & we'll not replace him

Just a minor thing but it's Atlético de Madrid and Athletic Club De Bilbao....it's pedantry I know.

    ....I'll fuck off now.

Like Notts County and "Notts Forest".....there is NO "Notts Forest"

"Notts" is an abbreviation of "Nottinghamshire" , the ceremonial county that the City of Nottingham sits in.

Nottingham Forest are from Nottingham , the City thereof.

Notts County represented the county and preceded the formation of the league itself.

I can't stand it when people say "Notts Forest" ....you might as well say Liverpool City or Manchester Wanderers.

All 3 promoted clubs have looked distinctly average so far.

Spurs really are bossing a Leicester side who look competent but not more than that - so far .

Leicester should have won at the end. Happy for Vardy still banging in goals at 37. One of my favourite prem players.

It looks like they are watching themselves this transfer window as rumors swirl about the hearings on those 115 breaches being around the corner. Everton had two and got two point deductions. Forest had one and got a point deduction.

So far City have spent £21 million & brought in £136 million this summer. Now they're bringing in ex players on free transfers.

Gundogan is pushing 34 but Barca used him in 36 matches last year and he scored 5 goals. Strange that they let him walk after one season. Pep is pulling some strings.

I think City should be GIVEN points for spending like they are. It takes BALLS to spend like that.

Meanwhile Chelsea had SIX goalkeepers on the active senior roster going into the last week of the season and they felt the need to go out and sign two more. Now they have eight. The circus continues.

Oliver Skipp takes the team bus up for their away match at Leicester last Monday. Gets sold to Leicester that day.

I wonder if he bothered coming back to clean out his locker or just stayed there.

I wonder what's in a guy like that locker.....maybe some loose change like £400 quid, some condoms, a pair of clean emergency underwear, a copy of Shoot magazine, fuck knows.

That place is bereft of any real structure. It's like those old people who hoard newspapers and shopping baskets full of plates or magazines and coupons.

"Better keep that. Might come in handy".

In the meantime you can't open a door or find somewhere to sit down.

I watched Chelsea Vs Servette the other night and it was gash.

Mudryk, who is fancied as a Champions League level guy....clueless.

Cole Palmer warming up on the sidelines.

Zero fanfare. No flags. No scarves.

    Just sterile and unhappening.

Yeah. When they signed their seventh GK about ten days ago, one of their ex players (can't remember who) wrote a "WHAT IN The FUCK IS HAPPENING" editorial in the Mirror.

I would say it's quite likely they will end up with a few Winston Bogardes among their collection of (once) promising players, I don't get whatever ingenious strategy underpins their gotta catch em all strategy of tying down potentially decent players to ten year contracts. Maybe we are all idiots.

No. It's not good. They were in decline under Abramovich and since then it's been a collapse. They're protected by their mates in the papers. A bastion of sterility and cluelessness presented to the public as "rebuilding" and "transition". But there's nothing actually there. There never really was but force of character from the managers they had kept things respectable.

I remember Benitez at Liverpool being treated like he was the second coming of Howard Shipman because he had a MILDLY scattergun approach to buying players on a budget to try and cover a 4 tournament season. He had guys like Nabil El Zhar, Arbeloa, Dani Pacheco, Benayoun, Mono Sissoko, Mark Gonzalez etc. Not a single one of those guys cost more than £4.5m. Yes, that's FOUR POINT FIVE.

@meetthefeebles will doubtless be by shortly to condemn the ridiculous decision to rule out Bournemouth winner (hit the NUFC guys arm) and the decision to not send off Joelinton for his kamikaze tackle on Neto.......
