Anyways ....Davis.....poster boy for modern Western boxers. They're all suffering from the Floyd disease. All terrified to see that OH go. Bring back Broner. All is forgiven.
Not to get all nostalgic, but Davis is simply a product of this piss poor era. The kid actually CAN fight. He's very talented, and his power is truly devastating. But if he was around in the era when Castillo, Corrales, Casa, and Frietas were around 130-135, and when you had Floyd & Tszyu as the best guys from 130-140, there's no way in Hell he'd still have his 0. Unless, of course, he avoided them all... But it would have been harder to pull his duck jobs back then.
Tank is a truly gifted fighter who could really be a great fighter if he had any cojones to face the best. But goddammit how much longer do we have to keep waiting for Davis to fight an elite level fighter? This is fucking ridiculous now. Huge waste of his talent.
Davis isn't a guy who's gonna age gracefully. He's very much dependent on his physical gifts and his explosiveness. Those will inevitably decline in his 30s. He's gonna lose having never beat anyone.
It's just tedious now. Like others have said, it's a shame as he is clearly talented and there are some great fights out there for him.
No nemesis. That's the problem. You need some Guatadorian animal to roar out of Central America spitting insults and throwing down the gauntlet. If that Valero freak was around you'd see fights getting made.
I mean, I'm sure Roach is better than that stiff, but we can hardly compare the CVs of Oscar and Tank. By his very early 20s, Oscar had already built a far superior resume than Tank's joke of a victim list.
