Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol: Who Wins?

Beterbiev finally got through in the 11th and put it on Bivol for almost all of it. His best round. Needs another imo.

I think Bivol won the 12th barely and will get a close decision. Good fight.

 

I have it a draw, but there were a lot of close rounds that were hard to score. It very much depends on what you like, scoring wise. This will be close imo.

Really good fight. Super high level. Bivol's defence and fighting off the back foot generally were excellent throughout.

Bivol by a round is how I think this will go. I tend to like aggression so might have scored a round it two for Beterbiev that judges probably wouldn't.

Well, I am surprised by that. The judges obviously liked the aggression even more than I did. 8-4 is a terrible card.

Beterbiev completely out-boxed Bivol

 

Canelo has no chance against either of these two.

 

I thought Bivol barely pulled it off but I’m not mad at the decision. Beterbiev put on some really good pressure.

 

Was that the bearded terrorist lifting Beter up?

 

The judges liked the beard and the terrorist ties.

 

Really hard to score. Beterbiev came forward constantly and threw loads of punches, so you can score that if you like it, but Bivol blocked or dodged most of them and fought off the back foot beautifully, so you could have scored that instead.

I thought 8-4 was an awful card, mind.

It was a razor close fight imo. I have no issue with Beter winning, nor would I have complained if Bivol won.

The fight showed that both are basically on the exact same level as fighters.

How many really clear shots did Bivol land, though? He fought beautifully off the back foot but he didn't throw much himself.

Actually let me edit that: I think Beter is a better fighter. He is fact faded from the guy he was 4-5 years ago. In other words, had this fight happened 5 years ago, I think Beter would have really hammered Bivol late and maybe got him outta there.

 

7-5 either way or a draw is fair.
