No point whatsoever in seeing Fury bash his brains for a 4th time. Only thing that makes sense now is Fury-AJ. Loser leaves town, and winner can fuck off as well.
Aside from his lackluster victory over a geriatric, petrified wald pussy, furry has ALWAYS struggled with soviets. Dating back to when he was dropped by USSR Cunningham to the usyk whippings
Oh I know that. It's just that so many fights these days turn.into...."well, Prime Ray Leonard would have _________ BOFE of these guys" etc.. We know we're not dealing with rare talent but we make do
Hang on......people rewrite history a bit too often. Wilder turning into a bum because he git TURNED into one. By Fury. In thrillers.
I had it 114-114. If someone was to win it though then Usyk no question as he was the only one trying to make something happen. Have to be honest though, I was disappointed with the performances of both. 116-112 is an absurd card.
The fights were exciting for sure, which is partly what made Fury a big deal, and partly what led to Wilder being overrated.
AgREED. I thought Furry won the 5th, 9th and 10th clear. Usyk won 6-8 clear. I can't really see how you give Furry only one of the rest, especially the earlier rounds, when very fucking little happened. MTF
Usyk is just on another level compared to these HWs right now. Who would have thought that the best HW today would be someone that didn’t start at HW?
Best thing about Usyk winning is that we won't have to sit through a trilogy. Fury should fight AJ now and retire. Usyk should rematch that guy who ko'ed him with a body shot. Wilder should fight Nganou.
8-4 is absolutely fine. I had 7 clear rounds to Usyk and 3 clear to Fury. 2 remaining rounds which were close and fair to split between them. Furys head was getting pinged by the left throughout.
What usually works for Fury against a lot of opponents doesn't as well against Usyk. He tries to start with the mind games. Olek is nearing 40 and doesn't care. Fury has skill for a big man, but he's not a master boxer. He's used to dealing with guys who hit hard and want to take his head off. He frustrates them. Usyk hits just hard enough. He doesn't try to load up, just hit you and outland you.
Usyk is always consistently working, that's the big issue Fury has with him. Even if he's not taking significant damage, he is being set an uncomfortable pace and it's making him have to respond to stay with him on the scorecards. He can't do anything on his own terms.
Good decision, fight was not close. Usyk was pushing hard for a KO over basically the last half of the fight. In Fury's face the whole time, just there pressing and throwing hard shots. So yeah he took a handful of shots but he landed the harder cleaner shots in all but a few of the rounds. I think he could've laid back and made it easy and made Fury look foolish but that's not what people want to see and he knows it. Fury is more than happy to lose in a snoozer he just doesn't give a fuck he makes that clear in everything he does. Usyk made the fight and won the fight.
Agreed. Fury is used to being in control even when losing exchanges. Usyk didn't dominate but he not only did more work, he out-boxed his opponent. After all it was a boxing match.
Agreed. I think Bowe would be the absolutely worst style matchup for Usyk. He would be willing to take punches in order to impose his will on Usyk. Fury wasn't really willing to put himself in the firing line like that. Bowe would not let Usyk get out of the fight without going through hell to win.
Is there a fighter at any weight in boxing history that is as blubbery, with absolutely no muscle definition at all….as good as Fury?
Morrison would lose to Usyk and Fury. He'd have a puncher's chance against them, but he'd certainly be an underdog. Morrison against AJ and Wilder, now those are 50-50 matchups.
Of any heavyweight great, I'd say that Tyson (the REAL Tyson, not the gypsy bum) would be the worst matchup for Usyk. Mike's style and his tools are the best suited for negating everything that Usyk does well. Bowe would stop Usyk, but he'd get outboxed for some rounds before eventually his size and power overwhelmes Usyk. Whereas with Mike, I think Usyk just gets overwhelmed from the outset. Bowe beats the living fuck outta Fury though. He'd hammer him like he did Gonzalez.
Then mind games extends to controlling the pace with feints. Just my two cents but if Fury was as adaptable as a Mayweather or Crawford I think he'd have abandoned that, squared up a bit, kept his left hand high and close & walked him down Winky Wright style. Usyk kept winning the feinting/timing/positioning game then coming over his lead hand.
It's all bullshit. Bottom-Lip DuBois now running around chatting shit. Fury refusing to speak. Itauma gonna wind up like Sam Peter..... Good riddance to all of them.
I give Fury credit for being so innately comfortable in a boxing ring as to be that flabby and still turn in a hugely creditable performance in and of itself. But it ends there. If you care that little why not just fuck off altogether mate?
