    01. This song was a top 40 US hit in the 70s, 80s & 90s for three different artists.

    02. Roberta Flack had three #1 songs (US) solo but she also had three top 10 (US) as part of a duet. Name the songs & duet partners.

    03. Only one artist has ever had a #1 song (US) in every single year of a decade. Who was it?

ANSWER # 02 The set up mentioned Roberta Flack's three #1 songs.

    Those were:

"The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (1972)

"Killing Me Softly With His Song" (1973)

    "Feel Like Makin' Love" (1974)

Donny Hathaway unfortunately committed suicide in 1979.

Roberta Flack recorded a duet with Peabo Bryson in 1983. "Tonight I Celebrate My Love For You." It hit #2 in the UK but stalled at #16 in the US.

    Her #1 hits

There was some mix up with 1994 as it had no hits but I'll fact check it. I know that was the year of the Christmas song. O believe there were rules in place at the time to prevent. A Christmas release from reaching #1.

    Those rules changed later

    Trivia question:

This song was released three times with slight variations under three different titles for three different artists.

    Hints:

01.The songwriter was the main vocalist for the second and third release.

    02. Because the song mentions established fictional characters it needed permission from a major US corporation which was granted.

    Trivia:

In 1980, an American female singer/songwriter had a hit about her disdain for an ex that had wronged her. Throughout the song she swears she'll never take him back and even has her friends remind her of how bad he was for her. In the end she goes back on her word and takes him back because she is crazy about him.

In 1993, an American male singer/songwriter had a hit about a tumultuous relationship with a woman who continuously deceives him and makes him miserable. But because he is crazy about her, he always falls into her traps.

Not only do the songs have similar themes but the names of the villains in these songs is the same name but spelled differently.

Give the titles and artists of both songs.

Both of these songs were US Top 40 hits as well as being hits in several other countries.

The 1993 song did better in the UK than it did in the US (after a second release.)
