Most Gen Z forums are fucking trash. The level of ignorance and delusion off the charts. And it’s not just for boxing. Basketball discussion groups today are absolutely terrible and embarrassingly ignorant and lacking in basic basic BASIC knowledge. The type of stuff you’d get laughed out of a forum for saying is now just regular talk and discussion.
I think it's probably because in the "old days" most people would bother to join topic specific forum were a enthusiasts of a sort, particularly with something niche like boxing. It's not there weren't dumb/ignorant people but it wasn't near as bad. Less people also simply were online too, let alone carrying it in their pocket. The ignorance. bias and stupidity is magnified for a host of reasons.
Well we know where they get that shit from. People hyping Ruiz as fast to begin with foment an atmosphere where this shit takes on a life of its own. Same with Wilders power. Same with Taylor Vs Serrano being the best fight at MSG ever. These are all mainstream talking points that doofus and co pick up on. But it's not really new. TBH while of course sites like this are better with a more stable hard-core base... I find myself liking ESB alot more now than 15 years ago. Although the bias there is ridiculous there are alot of knowledgeable long time fans, and a few great takes from time to time.
