There are pretty persistent rumours Celtic are trying to get Ajer back from Brentford which would be great for us. Very good ball carrying LCB (exactly what we need) & signing old players back is a good model for us given how shite our scouting is. A Tierney-Ajer-CCV-Johnston back four would be a very solid quality level for us

 

My only beef would be why a guy would be coming back. Presumably some blend of found out/getting older/wage demands too high etc.

One exception I can recall is Craig Bellamy who was generally excellent in his two spells at Liverpool.

 

He isn't a 'step up from Brentford to Liverpool' guy but he's been a solid mid table performer for 5+ years and is still only 27 so i think still he'd have plenty 'big 5' options (which he may prefer to Sellik, we'll see)
