Celtic straight back to signing a bunch of kids and punts as if we don't already have about 15 surplus to requirements guys clogging the wage bill, each signed as a kid or punt.

Yeah, very sad to hear, was a joy to watch at his best. A loss for Liverpool too, no question that they will have to add a forward now.

Shocking. Just saw it now on the news. Really really awful. A brilliant player who'd achieved so much and was still easily in his prime.

Huge loss for his country and family.

I mean this as a compliment:- his death is a huge setback too for the club. That's how good he was .

Easily one of the best players we've had in years and one of the best in the premier league.

    Awful news,simply.

My strongest recent memory of Jota isn't the winner Vs Everton but the equaliser Vs Forest. The league was still in flux then and that goal maintained the SQ at a critical moment.

Hugely influential guy. I'd honestly say the league might have been beyond Liverpool without him.

Horrible to say but it's a massive set back for the club. They're wisely not releasing further statements at present.

    Ugh.

As much as i like looking at supercars and appreciate the engineering that goes into them i don't think i would get one even if i could afford it.

If you're an excellent driver it might not even matter. At certain speeds just the smallest of fault can turn into a fatality.

5 weeks ago I sat down to watch the Palace game.

Fucking incredible. Just maddeningly fucking lamentable.

A week ago I was bemoaning having my bike stolen but he was still alive.

It's killing me to admit it but I know in my heart they were fucking around and found out. I'm sorry but I believe it to be true.

God help them all the same.

Obviously none of us know right now, but my guess is it is one of those incidents where if the tyre blew on the straight it could have been handled ok, but because they were on the overtake there wasn't much room for maneuver when things went wrong. Just one of those worst case scenarios at the worst time situations.

Not that they weren't speeding or anything when it happened, but it would still apply all the same.

Obviously speed was involved. I'm also not one of those "well you weren't obeying the laws so you brought it all in yourself" types. If was he loaded off his ass weaving in and out of traffic passing everyone sight with no regard to anyone's safety?

Different story for sure, but that doesn't mean it isn't a sad one.

It's so unnecessary. You're rich. Buy a sports car. Put it in the garage. Look at it. Job done. You're not a F1 driver.

Liverpool always seem steeped in tragedy. Win a Premier league? COVID. Best team in England? Hillsborough happens. Retain parity with United? Lad dies.

Now, onto the vulgar business:- I hope the club have their assets insured and if they don't they better get in with it.

Probably just speed. "Watch this bro" ...

My worry now is that "rival fans" (aka assholes) upload photos and we wind up with a vendetta that runs for decades and winds up costing more lives.

All the Everton sites are paying tribute to Jota and they had players and coaches there to take part in the tribute. I haven't seen one comment that was disrespectful.

"we have them tied into our routines as if they were friends"

    Nailed it.

Like I said I remember that night of the pivotal away-game at Forest. Forest reached their season-apogee in the first half of that game.

A win would have left them breathing down Liverpool's neck and the gap down to 4.

Jota came on and grabbed an equaliser within minutes. Liverpool finished strongest, the gap remained 7 points and Forest fell away immediately thereafter.

Yep v bad news for Bayern, having lost Muller and Sane (a good thing), they'll have to hang on to the mediocre Gnabry and rely on service to an increasingly immobile Kane

They aren't one of the biggest spending clubs of the top teams but they have enough money to address deficiencies. Plus they often don't have splash major dough, just offer than their league rivals which is easy for Bayern.

Toured the San Siro today, cool stadium.

Can't top QPR though. It's only Loftus Road but I like it.

I've never been to San siro but I heard from celtic fans you have to shit into a hole in the ground which sounded quite retro.

Did you go to the Douma cathedral? Its amazing
