I only saw the highlights but looked a proper game with a proper crowd, flying tackles not an asian tourist with a camera phone to be seen- great goal to win it

I didn't see it live but I watched it on the exercise bike at midnight.

It was indeed broadly bereft of touristy cunts

There may be a few. But I was thinking of Grimsby Town. Their ground is actually in Cleethorps (sp?)

Back in '07, I went to my first Everton away match in Bolton. I got back near my hotel and was drinking in Eccles. Some fat girl in the bar said that the Reebok wasn't really in Bolton. I think she was right about that as I read it was in Horton. But she also said Onslow from Keeping Up Appearances had a Brummie accent (he was actually a Scouser using his own accent on the show.) I said I thought (knew) he had a Liverpool accent. She said that Birmingham and Liverpool had the exact same accent. (WTF?)

It's also home to the New York Jets. Both NYC teams share a stadium in a different state.

Meanwhile in the NBA, a New Jersey team (Nets) was relocated to NYC and are now the Brooklyn Nets.

23 minutes in and celtic finally string 3 passes together. Luckily the other lot are equally agricultural so it's a competitive shite-off

I can't believe the Almaty fans haven't adapted this song as their club anthem.

It'd be best if Hearts could win the league with 15% our budget, I think that's the only thing that could bring the true extent of these cunts' mismanagement home to themselves.

I wonder if the Football Gods haven't got some sort of huge book-balancing task going on......"I'm looking at Scholes getting sent off a d somehow United still win 1-0 Vs Liverpool, away, 2006/2007, any ideas how to balance this? What? Grimsby Town? Penalties?"

If it's balancing books, the good news is that we still have years of entertainment ahead of us...

I looked it up b/c it's the salient compare & contrast this week-

    Celtic's match day & commercial revenues = £102m

    FC Brugge = €56m.

What each board is working with before the football department adds player trading or uefa prize money income

    Elsewhere,

    Porto = €83m
    Sporting €74m
    Feyenoord €73m
    Ajax €111m
    Benfica €86m

So Ajax the only club outwith the big 5 who's board starts with, slightly, more baseline income to invest in its football operations.

We parlay that into being out performed by Bodo Glint & USG on the regular

    Dermot Desmond needs to die

I was in Düsseldorf with the missus. We watched it live and about 100 yards from some Irish bar full of plastics clapping when LFC scored. When we equalised, I literally turned towards the bar and belted out The Blaydon Races at full voice. I've got a loud voice mind lol The missus went into attack mode, expecting bother. Obviously none came. Knew what the story was when 11 mins of stoppage time was imagined from nowhere

Have been worried about us all summer, but we've got a CF in now, so we'll be fine.

Don't wanna blow my own trumpet but :-

1.Saying the pursuit of Isak was crass and stupid has proven correct. Do your own scouting. Don't tap guys up. But rejects and improve them.....build from within the youth ranks.

    2. Working an evening shift and watching the game on LFC TV at 0000h is about as "real" as it gets without spending a fucking fortune on trains and tickets.

I swear and sweat through games....I'm eternally sceptical. I think that's as genuine as I can get. I will NEVER pay for football..

Glad to hear you're enjoying a life outside Carlisle etc.

Unfortunately I can't account for monied-up plastics in bars. That's not how I follow football . Fuck em.

I've never had a problem with LFC (or EFC for that matter). I know plenty of scousers, both blue and red, and they are absolutely sound. Solid, northern lads and lasses. Great craic for a pint, love their fitba, absolutely sound.

The way LFC, through their paid for mushes in the media, have tried (and largely succeeded) to unsettled our star striker this summer leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I understand the food chain. LFC can bully NUFC, just as Real can bully LFC etc. But to go to this extreme to unsettle little old Newcastle says a lot imo. And I think, mid to long term, they'll regret it. I'm no Saudi apologist. I think our owners are fucking scum. But they won't like being bullied. The last dafty who tried that ended up in literal bits and pieces. NUFC is a dick swinging competition for them, and they won't like having their little peens exposed for all to see. One way or another, they'll look to revenge it.

Dusseldorf was great. Great beer, great food and cracking people. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't been.

Did you admit to the locals that the 66 final was corrupt?
