Final Prediction: Canelo v Crawford

Crawford will have Canelo collecting cans in Cancun by Christmas

 

I'm gonna resist overthinking this and stick with my first thought when the thing was announced- Canelo too big

 

He's gonna need it. Going from 154 to 168 to fight Canelo is a pretty big jump. He only had one fight - Madrimov, at 154 also. He was 147 before that. It's a very good win if he beats Canelo clearly.

 

I'm going with Canelo.

 

Based on what? showing grits against a few bums and avoiding tough fights for most of his career (bar the last few years)?

Pretty much meaningless to be honest. Theres ton of people who can do some insane shit in the street, yet turn into pussycat when they faced adversity in a boxing ring. Honestly, i must admit that im a bit surprised that you, one of the few good poster here, wrote this, since its the kind of bs a causual would say (oh, hes from the ghetto, for sure hes tough)

To his credit, Crawford did showed grit in his career a few times, and to his credit, he rose up to the occasion, but it seems to me that people are going overboard on his toughness and grit (or at least, are turning a semi unknown into a definite known).

I dont always look tooooooooooo deeply into facial expressions, but Bud looks the far more confident of the two. Canelo looks a wee unsure imo. I dont see the same confidence in his demeanor that he had leading up to Plant and BJS, for instance.

 

I'll take Crawford. A good big un should beat a good little un, but I think he's much, much better. Crawford UD

How many genuinely elite fighters has Canelo beat? It's a very short list. He's great at taking trash out, but he stopped wasting his time at 175 when he got schooled there, and he moved real fast out of town when Floyd schooled him...

He may well be too big to lose this, but I'm miles from convinced by him. Crawford P4P is much better. It's all a question of whether he can make up the weight difference.

Crawford is getting way overrated because of the Spence fight imo, I feel he's more in the ODLH and Trinidad (or Canelo ) clasa than in RJ, Leonard or (beurk) Floyd's class (though he'd probably beat him at ww). This is not really a diss as it's a good place to be at legacy wise but not enough to beat someone close to this level too but with a good 20lbs on you. Canelo wins

 

I am thinking this goes the same as his fight with Mayweather.

I have to agree. Spence isn't that good at all. If he wasn't southpaw he wouldn't have got far. Crawford didn't look good vs Madrimov at all.

 

Crawford is no Dingaan Thobela.

 

I’ve been out of the loop and missed their last couple of fights.

But what from I’ve heard, Bud was already showing some signs of losing some effectiveness going up to 154. To move up again, all the way to 168, is such a tall order.

I think Crawford is the superior talent and better p4p, but I’m leaning towards Canelo by UD here.

 

Anyone know what time official undercard starts? Is 9p the main event or the start of the main card?
