True that, he looks about as Irish as Tony Cascarino. Rice is probably the worst of them, Grealish was never really on board. We could have probably had Connor Bradley apparently, that would have made a difference for us now.

This not like protestors coming out over some hot button wedge issue, but even then you should at least listen. These are FANS of the club and clearly a whole lot of them.

If so many people who are supposed to be on my side want me gone I'd oblige. Unreal how arrogant some people can be to sit there with folded arms and deem all of them are wrong and decide "nah, i'm doing a great job".

Before Everton were sold and right before Kenwright passed away things were getting really bad between the board and the fans. I can't remember the details but they even derailed one protest inside the stadium by claiming a fan had put a female board member in a headlock. Nobody bought it and there was a demand to see footage. Thousands of cameras around Goodison as well as TV cameras scanning the crowd. But they couldn't provide footage of this "fan" who went crazy and put some bitch in a headlock.

After Kenwright died things settled down a bit and then they sold the club, thank the fuck Christ.

Yeah, very common tactic. No matter how peaceful a protest is they'll will inevitably make up a story about some act of violence or vandalism and try to make that the entire focus.

Lets stop talking about greed, corruption and theft. Look at the garbage bin that was upended, it could have hurt a child!!

100%. To give a sense of how far down that route they've gone

    I) They orchestrated the abandonment of the AGM ten minutes in and held all the shareholder votes after they'd chucked everone out - all 99% for the Dear Leader! I don't know anything about corporate law but that feels extreme/borderline illegal

ii) in the summer they hired a former high-up in Police Scotland with a really pointed personal beef with the main supporters group. When the protests escalated recently they used some in-ground incident as pretext to ban the whole group from the stadium. On the first game of the ban Police Scotland organise dawn raids at 4 of the groups houses that morning. So effectively the club have the polis on the board and are using them to conduct intimidation tactics

All that shite could almost be forgiven if they weren't the most incompetent cunts in European fitbaw. Waiting for us to do a good bit of scouting is like waiting for the proverbial room of monkeys with typewriters to give you the start of Richard iii

Speaking of Romans tonight's game is interesting at least trying to see how Nancy's tactics scale to a half decent side. I thought we mostly looked good vs hearts despite the result and he'll have had a few more days to drill things. Could be good could be 0-5

Could be copium but I really can see what Nancy is trying to do. More than that I'm pretty excited at the potential of it

He's been thrown to the wolves with these as his first two games. O'Neil should have seen these out.

If only because he doesn't know the players - doesn't know how utterly shite several of them are at the things he's asking them to do

But as catastrophic as the reaction is it was only the 2nd goal where I thought we were really caught out of shape. The first comes from an OG. The third is just a proper top class finish. Their two other chances that didn't lead to goals came from pure individual errors from shite footballers. Roma still only ended up with 1.5xg.

Which is all to say I don't think Nancy shoulders any particular blame here, besides the mere fact that he's come in and started the disruptive process of trying to implement his style

I was catching some CL highlights -- disgusting rapist though he is, Mason Greenwood has been a beast for Marseille this year. He makes a nice tandem with Igor Paxaio, whom I always thought looked electric at Feyenoord.

Marseille looks good in general. Perhaps a dark horse for a deep CL run.

I refuse to deviate too far from the old Bill Shankly adages:-

    Football is a simple game.
If you cannot make a decision, you're a liability.
If in doubt, score first, discuss options later.

It's the Bruce Lee thing- if you don't understand the art a punch is just a punch, if you're learning the art a punch is no longer just a punch; once you've mastered the art a punch is just a punch again. I think you've got to to get a bunch of ts dotted tactically before things become so simple again.

Although put another way- Shankly is just saying 'give me good footballers' which is the point at Celtic. No shapes, no passing pattern drills, no 'relational principles' are gonna work with any of the utter fucking dunskies we've scouted these past ~4 years. Our squad is PURE PISH

Our only hope is rollodex signings so I just hope Nancy has a bunch of MLS (or unknown french) lads lined up. He's on his own
