Because he won the Europa League?

    Fair enough.

But Spurs ownership didn't agree with you.

Same thing with Glasner at Crystal Palace.

I will say, you definitely see the World Cup ushering in at least a temporary cultural shift here.

Took my kid to a large local recreation center yesterday and across every field, allllllll kids are out there playing football (soccer). No American football. The basketball courts were empty. Baseball is DEAD amongst American kids. It was just countless kids playing soccer across maybe 5 fields.

Might be a transient thing, or a sign of a larger culture shift in sports.

Mostly the Iran fiasco & other players, officials &, increasingly, fans being denied access. But also stadiums being in the middle of nowhere and all the price gouging I've been hearing fans are facing in getting to them. That would just be unimaginable anywhere in europe & I think even shit countries like Saudi would be too eager to impress to charge fans 80 quid for a bus ride to the game

And following up this -- NBA jerseys used to be the most popular in American kids. I flat out dont see it anymore.

Most American kids I see now have Yamal jerseys on. Moreso than NFL or NBA players.

As of now (subject to change) I'm more hyped about next season's Premier League than I am the World Cup.

Apparently Haiti have the Polish flag on their strip because in 1802 Napolean sent hundreds of troops from his Polish legion to go and crush a rebellion there but when they arrived they decided 'fuck that' and fought with the Haitians against the French, helping to achieve the country's independence. Cool.

    Silva hired at Benfica.

Maybe that's an effect of England doing so well in the European competitions lately. A guy who can steadily finish around 10-14 in the Prem is fit to manage one of the biggest clubs in Portugal.

Everton ordered to pay Burnley a settlement because they were relegated the season that Everton were found to have breached FFP rules.

As a reminder, Everton's two breaches (one the next season) were because the club lost more money than what is allowed in a season.

So Everton losing a shitload of money somehow gave them an unfair advantage over Burnley?

    The club is appealing.

    Meanwhile at Man City...

Who you have in the final of the World Cup?

I'm thinking it will be Curacao vs Jordan.

First match set to kick off in about 90 mins, chaps.

Mexico is finna take its giant burrito and beat the apartheid outta South Africa with it.

The match will probably resemble what a prime JCC vs Brian Mitchell would look like.

Yeah, I watch a lot of Club America games. Easily one of the top 10 loudest stadiums in the world.

I remember the 2010 opening game between these two and it was actually a good game. Not expecting the same here.

Lets bust out all the stereotypes this WC.

We might have lost to Germany last weekend, but we still beat the krauts when it most mattered.

I was running around having a kick about with my kid over the weekend in the 95 degree Jersey heat/humidity and it definitely crossed my mind that "I dont think the English can handle this shit."
