Yeah I'm skipping this one. And Japan-Tunisia is on too fuckin late. I'm not staying up until midnight for it.

    I'll watch Spain-Saudi tomorrow.

Japan is no joke. Yes, in our lifetimes, I can see them winning it.

I saw Japan against Belgium. They dominated until they faded physically. Unfortunately we live in the era of fitness tweaking. People like Dirk Kuyt can just run you to death.

Four years ago Belgium-Iran would be a forgone conclusion. Not so sure about today.

As many Persians live here you'd think the crowd would be 80/20 in their favor but perhaps most are too cowardly to make the trek to Inglewood

hahaha that's exactly how the English commentary tried to portray it when i saw benefit from one like that in a qualifier "Ok, it was a a giveaway but the player had to be in the right spot to take advantage ..."

When they blunder like that's an absolute ootrage and somehow there was no talk of "earned luck" or such.

Commentary is a joke, generally. They reduce the game to some sort of lottery or raffle.

They keep saying what a "Surprise" Cape Verde are. That's just them admitting they didn't watch any of their qualifiers. These guys get PAID TO KNOW who the good players are ffs.

    Yes. Apart from qualifiers.

He'd have to be because there were only 3 possibilities :- 1990,1994,2002 and there were definitely no Rovers players that played at any of them..

Edit: apropos of whiskeys article this is just a long winded way of saying that nobody who played internationally also played for Rovers at the same time.... apart from qualifiers.
