Good early opportunity for Colombia but finish wasn't as easy as it first looked.

Munos really tried extra hard to make up for the last miss, gets the ball in after chasing his own rebound but offside is called.

If Colombia and Mexico end up facing each other I think some "structural problems that are a safety concern" will be discovered and the game will be moved to a field in Arlington Virginia.

Lots of chances and good one for Colombia early. Congo keeper has made some very good saves.

Crowd singing Cielito Lindo. I was wondering if somehow the Colombian fans use it as a football song and then i realized the game is being played in Guadalajara.

Congo appear to me like many of the smaller sides at World Cups. Better than before in terms of conditioning and more importantly
organization, but not particularly good on the ball. They can't create many chances so have to bury the few that come their way. Most often those times come from a lapse on the other side, not great play.

Kind of tiresome to see almost every yellow card being instantly appealed by the offender no matter how clear it is.

    WHAT WHY!?

..... "why are these people bringing their problems over here"..

    1. You caused their problems

    2. You invited them....

The when their paths crossed it was a problem :cool:

Ha.... Same land mass. I'd call it their second World Cup. I mean the Rumble in the Jungle is still the Rumble in the Jungle.

Coca prevails over Cobalt for now.

The 1990s really did hit a bit differently. If you'd told me in 1996 that Baddiel would go on to become a pathetic aged Zionist marooned on his own planet of disappointment I'd have had no clue what you were even on about.

And yet there he is. Mad cat man David.

It all seemed a bit different then..

I know he's a hero and all but I still think it's a bit weird how many Maradona signs and posters you see in the Argentina crowds. There is a guy that brought you the World Cup for the first time in 40 years. He's also, you know ... actually out there and playing.

I'm too young to remember, when Argentina was playing in 86 were the crowds filled with Kempes signs?

The scene in Miami figures to be insane today between the Scottish & Brazilian fans.

On the Brazil side, Raphinha is hurt. Unclear on when he'll be back. They might be fucked. I think they need Raphinha if they're gonna make a deep run. IFF they had Vini, Neymar, and Raphinha all playing well, I think they'd have a decent shot at the final. But if its just Vini and a hobbled, old Neymar, they cant do it.

I think it would be hilarious if every single player on both Brazil and Scotland tested positive for cocaine after tonight.

They probably wouldn't even take action and hush the results. :Jest:

So Canada scored in all 3 games. Certainly better than their WC debut where they didn't score a single one. A bit different though in that were in the same group with the USSR and a Platini lead France.
