From what i see Argentina have big names, are tired but not disjointed. Maybe over jointed. Offensive is very predicable.

Of course, I'm saying France has a lot more weaponry now.

I honestly think if you could have run a simulacrum of France vs Argentina final 10 times Argentina might have won twice.

I know that's not how it works.

Argentina just came out swinging wildly and seemed to get something out it.....

I honestly feel there are 2 types of real upset now:-

    1. Where 1 side go all the way. Like USA winning the soccer world cup.

    2. Where one side are 4 goals behind and somehow win.

    That's it.

Everything else is now possible. Paraguay knock out Germany? I'm not shocked. Morocco do Holland? I'm not shocked.

I'm just not stunned anymore like I used to.

England got 8 goals so far and none of them vs Ghana. That's what I'm basing Ghana chances on. Their perceived ability to offer resistance....

What if England got 2 but also conceded 2?

    They'd be going home.

Seriously I'd interpret that as proof of two bad defences

Ghana right back goes off. Immediately they concede in that position.

And what would it matter if they won the World Cup?

Should that Ghana game be revisited?

If England won the World Cup and were drawn against Ghana in the group phase 2030 and Ghana won and somebody said "I gonna pass out can't believe this huge upset" I'd IMMEDIATELY revisit the 0-0 from 2026 and say "hang on.... we had notice".....

Columbia have been much better but Ghana got really unlucky with that injury. Everything has been through that RB position.

Colombia should beat the Swiss and Argentina should handle Egypt. No guarantee at all that Argentina gets past Colombia in the quarters.

Yeah Colombia have been quietly doing their thing and going under the radar a bit. Not the best to watch but they're going to be very hard to beat.

This is usual for the British media but I'm surprised the BBC have resorted to it.

    Lightning? Spies?

    Hector the Bellboy??

Perhaps a shopkeeper girl will accuse Harry Kane of theft too.....

If England win tomorrow I give them HUGE props because I dont think they will. They have better individual talent, but Mexico has been playing as a collective sooooo much better, and have the huge Azteca edge. Kane is the ONLY reason England has a chance, but I dont think he's gonna be enough. This aint Doctor Congo.

I have seen the above script play out too often to doubt it but I've also see how (vs Columbia in 2018 and vs Slovakia in 2024) that England being nearly eliminated then rallying can have a tremendous effect on their momentum.

Beating Congo suggests little, but the manner- two late goals when they were needed- can have a hugely galvanising effect.

The crowd could work against Mexico too.

    Well we'll know soon enough.

Canada qualifying would be a surprise. If they beat Morocco in normal time I would consider it an upset.

I think Canada are well coached and very fit. That should allow them to blunt the Moroccans up to a point.

If England get past this test, then theres a decent shot they could past Brazil and Argentina before losing to France in the final. I dont think they'll make the final, but if they pass the Mexico test, it starts to get possible.
