They always have the loudest sports venues in the US.

Key Arena was the loudest arena in NBA history, bar none.

I've officially gotten to a place where I'm predicting a France-England final. The stars seem to be aligning toward that final.

Was that shot he missed a layup for an elite strikers? Seemed like a difficult angle but many others woulda put it in the back of the net

I haven't been to many nba arenas and never there to have any opinion. I have been outside it once, years after the sonics left.

Incidentally the loudest I've ever heard a hoops arena was the fabulous forum in the playoffs when the Lakers whipped the sonics and Eddie jones outplayed payton

Without checking that sounds like either 98 or 99 (Jones might have been with the Hornets by 99, I forget).

Christian Pulisic lost possession 11 times in just 45 minutes.

The MOST of any player on the field

Simply not a big game player and not an elite player. But more importantly, a mentally soft player.

The USA media did everyone a disservice putting him on the same tier as the Mbappe's and Vini's of the world, because it confused all the soccer casuals in the US into thinking he's Diego Maradona or something and can single handedly win games.

Pulisic is just a "good" player at world level. I wont say a fraud or a bum because there was a stretch when he was legitimately one of the top 10 best players in Italy, but IMO he's now on the downside due to constant injury.

To put into terms you can understand: Mbappe is Kobe level. Pulisic has always been Jamal Tinsley level.

Goalkeepers are like drummers. They think they can play. Their job is to sit in the back and jump around.

No it was a good chance but he was against a good keeper, he was being closed down, angle was tight.

He got into a good position, timed his run, did the hard parts well.

It was more a good save than a "miss"

This game really showed our level. We are NOT a top 20 national team in the world. Arguably not even top 30. We are closer to Scotland in level than we are to Mexico, for instance. I dont think the USA makes another quarterfinal in our lifetimes.

So Trump really called FIFA about the red card, I’m hearing. What a fucking child. Dude doesn’t watch or care about the sport. Probably doesn’t even understand it.

Anything to annoy. Anything for attention. Anything to get all eyes on him.

So fucking glad Belgium handled them.

One US podcaster said yesterday: "Balogun is playing and all I see are European tears. Stop crying and just play us on the fucking pitch, dude. Just play us on the pitch and see what happens."

I'm relieved that I can now enjoy every game in peace with no dogs in the race.

I wanted to Brazil to win. They're out, no more pressure to root for them.

I wanted to the US and Penaldo eliminated. Both gone. No more pressure to root against them.

Now I can truly just enjoy watching every game with impartiality.

    Predicts for the day:

Both Argentina & Colombia should be clear winners, though the Swiss are no pushovers and are live underdogs.

Egypt hasnt much of a shot.
