Mbappe appears to be fine. He's now jumping around celebrating with the crowd. Couldn't do that if he had a serious injury.

Spain (sorry Belgium) Vs France is effectively the final...there are levels, and England not at it, not are Argentina imo

Agreed. France-Spain is effectively the final.

Argentina and England have looked too shaky to be favored over them.

Yeah if you're Argentina or England you know Spain is no easy task but have a very very strong preference between the two.

They gotta get past Norway first. They probably will, but its no lock. Then they gotta get past Argentina, and England will go into that slight betting underdogs.

I still am predicting a France-England final though.

How differently would you feel about a frog squad against England in the final if somehow mbappe is injured. If he were somehow out does it completely swing the odds to change the chalk ?

    It changes a lot, yes.

France are a lot more balanced than Argentina, but at the end of the day, Mbappe is the guy. There is no mistaking that. He's the best player on the planet right now, of course it would be a huge blow.

Losing him would make an England match a pick em, but probably still a slight France edge, rather than a clear France edge.

But not AS dramatic as say, a Messi injury would be for Argentina. Such an injury would make England overwhelming favorites over Argentina.

Yea I could see a scenario where England is a little less motivated or even fully flcused and all these young frog killers still beat them without their main guy

With attackers like Dembele, Olise, Barcola, and Doue, and a much better defense than England, France would still be favorites over England without Mbappe, yes. But it'd give England a live shot.

With Mbappe? Barring a major upset, its just not gonna happen for these teams. France is a safe bet to win it all. They're not even breaking a sweat out there.

Yamal has been quiet all tournament long, but he HAS to put in a big performance for Spain to have any chance on Tuesday.

Spain has the best defense in the world, but its not gonna hold off France's offense all night.

Serious question, where will Mbappe end up on all time greatness list? Love him or hate him, he's on a trajectory for going down as one of the greatest forwards in footy history. Lets say France win this year, and eventually he also wins a UCL. Where does he rank?

Meh. They already got a dose of reality vs France's smaller weaker neighbor.
Very high but he'll have to continue to play at a high level at least into his mid 30's before he can be considered up there with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo for modern players.

I dont think he'll ever surpass Messi or Pele in greatness. They have too many club and international accolades. I'd also say they were just more complete than Mbappe.

He's ALREADY surpassed CR7 in World Cup greatness. He has a ways to go to catch CR7 in club greatness.

Well, a pile of players have done that. Ronaldo has never been much of a factor at the WC.

    How about the real Ronaldo?

I think he peaked higher than Mbappe and was more gifted, but Mbappe has just stayed far healthier/less injury prone.

The Mbappe who plays for the French national team is a different player to the club Mbappe. He works much harder. That is a big credit to Deschamps, I wonder if Zidane will be able to thread the needle so well.

He can remind him that he won the World Cup when Mbappe was in the womb and then won the Euro when he was doing peepee in his diapers.

Yeah, Mbappe's performances and legacy at international level are close to untouchable. At club level, specifically Champions League, he's been found wanting thus far.

Mbappe is probably a bigger star in the US right now than any non-NFL player. Theres more US kids rockin his jersey than current NBA players, and baseball players are just NOT stars in the US the way they were 25-30 years ago.

Yeah I'd agree. I think R9 had a peak that we never got to see due to the injuries. As undeniably great a player as he was, it's scary to think we might not even have witnessed the best of him.

I dont know if its a coast thing.

A shitload of kids out here rock Mbappe Madrid jerseys.

Not as many as you see with Yamal jerseys though. Yamal is a baby, so more kids relate to him.

I'm in the NY area, so you do see a shitload of Brunson and Judge jerseys. But just those two guys. OVERALL, it seems to me the youth wear futbol jerseys more.
