A guy at my work is from Argentina and a couple of weeks ago he put in his resignation. I was annoyed as i never got a chance to ask him.

"You're Argentinian, so you probably know Messi right? Can you get me an autographed jersey?"

 

Surprisingly I see a decent amount of people around here wearing Raphinha jerseys. More Raphinha jerseys than I see Vini jerseys.

 

Yeah that's kind of an odd one.

I rarely see any football jerseys here. Maybe the odd obvious one like Messi or Ronaldo. Don't even see a lot of hockey jerseys other than the local team in any season.

During the WC or the Euro one common thing is people putting tiny flags on their cars. The most common I usually see is Portugal or Italy. (not the latter this time for obvious reasons)

I've seen a couple each of Germany and England and one Brazilian but can't recall any others, at least not this time around.

 

Just saw a headline about a meeting Klopp and Mbappe had on a private jet. Turns out it was way back in 2017.

Lame. I was hoping they were maybe talking about him changing citizenship.

I even saw a headline from some female USA soccer player piling on. They're just determined to find a scapegoat.

All these great players are scoring and grabbing headlines and the guy on OUR poster is not. Truth is it wouldn't have mattered if he played one minute.

As to the Spain vs USA question i guess it could have been "worse" but there were times when Belgium were basically playing with them.

 

USA wouldn't have scored on Spain.

Probably would have been like 3-0. In a totally non-competitive game where Spain doesnt leave first gear.

 

Egypt would have toyed with us also. Sure, they choked against Argentina --- but we aint Argentina .

Egpyt would have thrashed us just as bad as Belgium did.

 

We'll see what happens tomorrow, but I'm quite confident we'll be looking at an Argentina-England semi.
