Only a few more weeks away from this one. What say yall? I've changed my mind on this fight. Originally, my thinking was that class would win out, and Spence would take it. I no longer think that. I'm pretty sure Tim is gonna stop Spence. I dont think EJ has anything left in the tank, and I think he's mentally already close to checked out. Tszyu isn't good, but Tszyu is fresher, bigger, and at this point more invested in the sport. Tszyu late stoppage imo.
i think spence beats tszyu. spence got wrecked by crawford, an elite fighter. at a bad weight for spence. tszyu has been beaten down by much lesser guys. either way whoever wins is mere fodder for the top guys at 154.
The Bud beat down was so thorough and devastating…. Spence is more skilled by a mile…if he can keep things simple jabs n the left, counters he should be able to win….but if Tszyu comes trying to impose his size advantage n it turns into a slugrest ….could go either way….. Was it Spence who recently said he didn’t really trained for the Bud fight?? Or was that someone else…was it Teo? Whoever it was I thought Bullshit…biggest fight of your career n ur training was lackluster fuk out of here. Anyway Spence by Timmy quitting 9
I’m gonna go with Spence via an upset stoppage. Tszyu is a bit of a front runner when things don’t go his way and if Spence hangs around and works the body, I don’t think Tszyu will have an answer. Spence via late stoppage.
I'm pretty sure Tszyu is shot mentally and may well crumble if he can't find a way to hurt Spence and Spence starts to find the target. His last 2 fights were against nobodies and he had trouble pulling the trigger and took some unnecessary shots. On the plus side, Fenech isn't trying to make huge technical changes, just getting him to keep the hands glued to his chin, move the head a bit more and throw some more combinations up and down rather than just headhunting with 1-2's. Fenech is also getting him mentally prepared by being very fit, confident and ready for a high workrate battle. If Spence can find some old form, get his timing and range right and isn't shot himself, he should be able to handle Tszyu fairly comfortably and is the favourite for that reason.
I just dont like how Spence sounds in interviews. All the old fire and confidence he once exuded is gone. He basically gives off the same vibe that Danny Garcia gave off in the latter portion of his career. I'm gonna stick with the Tszyu upset.
Spence sounds slurry. He has always had that Texas drawl but it seems a little more pronounced. I watched his interview with ward and hes pretty fuckin honest about his drinkin and I believe it. Is it too late as a pro boxer to change your lifestyle this late in the game? It aint like he took all these ass whippings aside from 1 bad fight He does sound like he doesnt really give a fuck about fighting and this is another payday. 1 foot out the door. Even if he was facing fundora who I dont view highly, id probably change my pick at this point and pick against him But tszyu seems close to shot too and less talented
He's 100% slurring. Last week I rewatched an interview with him from circa 2016. His speech is markedly slower, and harder to understand now than it was back then. Fundora would beat the shit outta Spence right now. EJ probably doesnt have much more left than Thurman did.
I've seen a couple of Spence fight hype interviews, his vibe sounds more like he expects to beat the crap outta Tszyu easily and doesn't think much of him at all.
if him n his team couldn’t get a good training camp going for the Crawford fight…..I doubt they can GET UP for Tim Tszyu .. https://youtube.com/shorts/s2lYTc5c8AI?is=Eo-BKNGjK88ZUl4v
Ronnie Shields will run an old school no BS technical boxing camp. I expect Spence to have a couple of new tricks up his sleeve to try out on Tszyu.
‼️Spence vs Tszyu now a 160 pound fight‼️ Tszyu’s coach says the fight was always expected to be contested at the 154 pounds. Spence 1st agreed to a 158 pound catchweight before now requesting the full 160 pound middleweight limit. That’s a six pound jump. Per Fox Sports
Per source, PBC/TGB officials do not believe Jermall Charlo will be granted a visa to travel to Australia in time for his scheduled fight next Saturday on the #SpenceTszyu undercard. Charlo was to have traveled earlier this week but because of past legal issues his visa has been held up. #boxing
Spence is just giving himself more of weight advantage to help grind down the smaller Tszyu. Probably a smart move.
Even if Spence wins, I hope he retires. Whats he gonna do? Fundora would stop him inside of 7. Ennis and Ortiz stop him inside of 4.
I think Spence will try hit and move tactics rather than going toe to toe. Tim only has one way to fight as he's limited. Hard to say if Spence can pull it off
Hard to make a prediction for this as we've seen nothing from Spence in three years. But I imagine he might play it smart and use his head, rather than get drawn into anything reckless.
Tim is shit and honestly he wouldn't be relevant in the game if not for who his old man is, HOWEVER: 1. Tim's been far more active. 2. Tim's the younger, bigger man with the bigger punch. 3. Tim's fighting at home. I really feel its an uphill battle for Spence and that he'll get beaten up after a few rounds. But maybe I'll be wrong, we'll see.
I agree with 1 and 3. But feel those wont matter much. Tszyu been active getting his head caved in and defeating nobodies. He hasn't beaten a top 20 foe in 3 years
