Roach is mediocre as fuck.

 

Roach was too uncomfortable standing in with Zepeda. One other difference is Stevenson is huge at 135 whereas Roach was kind of dwarfed by Zepeda. Stevenson made zepeda look small whereas zepeda made roach look small. That counts.

 

No, what counts is that Shakur is 10x more talented and skilled than Roach. Its really that simple.

 

stevenson is better than roach for sure. double is also correct he's considerably bigger. he looks similar in size to crawford and ennis when you see clips of him sparring with them

Your favorite fighter was Castillo. You should be the absolute last person talking about fighters who depend on size. Without a gross size advantage, Castillo never would have been an elite fighter.

Shakur being in a different class than Roach in terms of talent/skill has more to do with him dominating Zepeda and Roach losing to Zepeda than Shakur's size.

Fights like Crawford-Canelo and Roy-Ruiz demonstrate that a huge talent/skill advantage negates a size advantage.

 

Lol. Which is it? Size matters and Castillo is nothing without it? Or size does matter and contributed to Shakur's win over Zepeda?

 

1. Castillo was a good fighter with skill regardless of size, but him being a weight bully allowed him to be a very good fighter at 135.

2. Shakur's skill played the MAIN role in him dominating Zepeda. Being a bigger man helped, it certainly couldn't hurt, but it was not the determining factor.

 

Ok. Well that's not far off from my original statement. All I did was point out that in addition to being able to manage Zepeda's pressure better, Shakur is also bigger than Roach.

 

But can Stevenson deal with JOSE VALENZUELA ?

 

Valenzuela can box but I don’t think he’s on Shakur’s level.
