Norris in his prime was very clever and I think he finds a way to avoid Mayorga's fire power for 12 rounds.
It's funny. I can never see Terry Norris winning anyfights in 2007. He was a good fighter in his day, but in all his fights at the time, you figured he was just one second away from getting chin checked. I doubt Mayorga touches Terry, but he is one fighter I would never, ever bet on.
This is one fight he aint losing though. Mayorga is simply not in Norris' class. And none bring up his wins over Forrest, cause quite frankly, Forrest wasnt in Norris' league either. Terry might get shook up early, but Mayorgs is too wild to put him away. I said a late stoppage for Norris, but Terry blowing him away within 5 or 6 wouldnt shock me either. Sure a prime Mayo had a tough chin, but Norris would be hitting him at will, and with speed that Mayorga never tasted before, and Norris could crack. I say Norris TKO 8 over a prime Mayorga, and TKO 3 over the Mayorga that fought DLH.
I can see Norris beating Mayorga but not stopping a prime Mayorga. He had one hell of a chin and was mentally tough. The speed Norris had may have been a factor but I just dont see Mayo being stopped.
Mayorga's chin is so overrated. Just cause Vernon Forrest couldn't knock him out doesn't mean his chin was invincible. Norris by TKO in 8.
Mayorga mentally tough? Lol the hell he is! Mayorga is the classic bully, stand up to him and he'll fold. Norris would beat the fucking shit outta him and stop him. Mayorga had a good chin, but lets not act like he was Lamotta or something. Norris had power in both hands, threw beautiful combinations, and because of the speed would be hitting Mayorga with shots he wouldnt see him coming. Check out the first left hook he dropped Mugabi with, lighting fast, then he followed up. Also, Terry's only flaw wouldnt be exposed by Mayo. Mayo's power is overrated as fuck, and if Norris was on his game, I think he could handle Mayorga's shots and recover from them. I think Mayo makes it interesting for the first 2-3 rounds, but once Norris really gets going, it would become a one sided flogging ending with Terry teeing off on the Nica punching bag against the ropes and forcing a stoppage.
yeah but like Mayorga said..if you see 'em coming you can take 'em. he took the 2/3 left hooks..but it was the follow up punches that had him wobble at the end of round 1...the follow punches he didn't see..and wasn't prepare to take. NOrris should win ....but with his chin..who knows.
Norris wins and handily. Mayorga would NOT hurt Norris. His shots are too wide, with little leverage, and often don't land cleanly. If Mayorga thought Trinidad threw combinations well, then he has not seen anything yet. Norris was one of the best pure combo throwers of recent times and Mayorga is a wide open target. This would be a showcase. Norris survives Mayorga's wild rushes and handles the power of Mayorga easier than people expect then adjusting his distance and timing en route to a CRUEL BEATING. Mayorga would be overwhelmed and embarrassed. Norris KO 7
