Question for Stafford

You have been quoted in the past as saying that the world is 6,000 years old. (very embarrassing comment).

How old do you think Planet Earth is now?

he has since taken it back but at one stage he did present a case for it several times and no doubt believed it. he then said he had reevaluated his argument "after further research". In another argument he also claimed that natural selection has "nothing to do with evolution".



I would like to hear his comments on these issues.

I won't say what I am for or against , but as I have said so many times ... it's misinterpretation of the bible that is the biggest problem with religions.

Twisting it to mean what you want (Usually for the sake of control like with the belief in a literal hell) or simply interpreting it wrong through lack of common sense or outright ignorance.

The first lesson here is this ....

The Bible clearly states that A day to God is a THOUSAND years to man.

If we simply use this interpretation , then creation could not be 6 days .... it was at least 6000 years long.

Secondly what we have described in the bible is intelligent design over a period of 6000 years.


Now let's examine , not how far we have come in the last 5000+ years .... but what we're capable of , in our limited capacity now.

With what we are capable of now ... could we over the next 6000 years create an ecosphere around say, Mars ... and make it inhabitable and full of life ?

I'll bet you we could.

Now take a much more highly advanced being. We know him as God.

Could "he" do the same and more in 6000 years ???

IMO ... easily.

We can now create life via cloning. We are now engineering life to certain parameters. We are working on weather control and modification. Nano technology. Space exploration and so on and so on.

It would be ignorant of us to not believe their is much greater power "out there" ... much greater intelligence , then our own.

The Bible CLEARLY uses incorrect numbers in it and miscalculations ALOT, which is NOT left to interpretation, your guess is just as good as anyone elses when it comes to "correect" interpretations because it is wrong and people try to twist and appologize for it, I can prove this by a Bible-thumpers comment on this factual statement that cannot be argued against, if they dare to address my comments opcorn:

The most respected version of the bible by many is the King James , which is a bastard child of the original text at best with many many ommissions and changes.

I still don't think the Earth is billions of years old. I beieve that time frame was created in order to facilitate the ridiculous and unproven theory of evolution.
