COTTO vs MARGARITA...Preliminary PreDICKtions...

:crafty: I could cry ..."MARGARITO GUNNA KNOCK HIM OUT COLD IN 1 ROUND!!!!"... but that would be the bewildering lust for his blood, getting in the way of a more rational and realistic judgement, you're claiming he's going to stop Margarito, but you've got to ask yourself,.. how does Margarito suceed when he's got poor skills, poor handspeed, poor defence, poor footwork and poor technique?...
It's because he's a resilient, tough, iron-chinned, slashing machine, as raw as fuck and as close to the real definition of "unstoppable" as you can get, ESPECIALLY fucken ESPECIALLY against the common backpeddling of Miguel Cotto, you and I both know that he will not want anything to do with a brawl against Margarito, he will "lead protect" the way he's done with other hard headed scrubs of the past, against Margarito, towards the later rounds, he'll be running like Spinks , so enjoy your "smart skills" groupie.

He gave Judah a savage beating, hurt Mosley several times, and Mosley has a GREAT chin, better than Margarito. He is also simply a better fighter than Marge.

Plus he fucking crushed Quintana who recently schooled Marge's daddy long legs.

I absolutely can't wait for this fight, it's going to be classic. Marge is going to receive a career ending beating, like Duran - Moore.

No, you guys have a way fucked up view of how good Cotto is. He's not walking through Margarito, not a fucking chance.

He hits harder than Margarito, that's for sure.

He is not a 1 punch KO artist, but he has naturally heavy hands, every punch he throws is fucking hard. That leads to his opponents getting absolutely brutalised, which is exactly what's going to happen to Marge.

 

He doesn't hit as hard as Cintron and Margarito walked through everything Cintron threw and smiled.

I'm not saying Cotto sucks, I'm not even bashing him at all. I just think he's in for a way tougher fight than you guys seem to think.

and if by BRAWL with Margarito you mean stand flatfooted infront, chin in the arm looping punches like Margarito...then NO..COTTO won't do that...Margarito WILL OUTthrow Cotto..but COtto will OUTland him....

 

I would actually say he hits as hard as Cintron, whose power is overrated, and based on him KOing bums.

Cotto has more than just power and has fought a far higher level of opposition than Cintron.

If you feel Cotto's power is nothing compared to Cintron, and Marge took Cintron's punches fine, you're going to be surprised, trust me.

Cotto has such good timing and accuracy, and such consistent power and fast hands, that Marge is going to get busted up and discouraged.

His workrate is going to drop, he's going to become hesitant like he was early in the Williams fight, and he'll get stopped on his feet at about round 10.

 

Most post i read about Cotto is about him having HEAVY HANDS.....nothing about being a huge puncher...

If Cotto stops Margarito I will be seriously impressed. Cotto is gong to have to fight his ass off to win the fight I guarantee it.

 

I agree there's a good chance that Marge lasts the distance, he is tough if nothing else.

At first I thought he would last, but the more I think about it, he is just so slow and plodding and hittable compared to guys like Judah and Mosley - who Cotto was able to find EASILY - I think there's a good chance cotto busts him up proper and stops him late.

I know. As far as how hard he hits compared to other WW's, that's tough to say. What I can say is that he hits harder to the body than any other Welter out there today. Margarito is gonna be there to be hit, and those body punches will take their toll. I like Cotto to take like a 4 point UD.

We'll leave Paulie out of this but who's to say Margarito would have even beaten Judah, and I seriously give him less chance against Mosley because Margarito only brawls. Cotto outboxed Mosley. I love how easily most forget how Williams beat Margartio by boxing him, and Clottey was beating him handily til he got injured.

Read this well: Cotto will destroy Margarito with body punches. Margarito is there to be taken. Paul Williams showed that he doesn't like to be punished there. Cotto will do it in 8 rounds. Margarito is an exciting fighter, but way overrated.
