Tam is missing the point entirely, and you shouldn't be encouraging him...

No matter WHO THE FUCK is fighting, if it is on ITV1 at 9.00pm on a Saturday night, it will do, at the absolute worst, no less than three million viewers. At absolute worst.

Saturday's tabloid papers will pick up this fight and give it a push into the mainstream at the right time, Witter will be in their slagging Hatton off as usual and people will turn in to see what the fuck the fuss is about and who this fucker slagging the angelic Ricky off is.

Witter has been making a fuss in the press for ages- it's not like he's a complete fucking unknown. Even the casual sports fan who has never seen him fight will know that he is the dude who is always slating Ricky Hatton to anyone who will listen.

Witter isn't dumb. He's been pulling that shit for a reason. He's kept his name relevant enough until he gets his shot in the limelight. This is his shot. And people will tune it (many of them no doubt hoping to see him get his head ripped off) to see what he's about.

I repeat, if this fight doesn't get at least five million viewers, I'll be amazed.

Khan and (especially) Harrison's number have much less to do with their names than you might imagine.

You think Harrison brought 8 million viewers against Williams? :nono: Fraudley had already been discredited as a boring, bum-beating toss bag by then.

People tuned in because it was on and because it was boxing, that is all. These same will do so on Saturday for Witter. Christ, you'd think Witter was some unheard of schmuck. The fucker is never out of the papers, slagging Hatton off. He si no superstar, but he is no unknown guy either...:dunno:

The only time some of my friends watch boxing is live on ITV. So I'm still putting up with conversations about Benn V Eubank....

That slot on ITV attracts an unbelievable mount of casual fans.

The type of dude that predicts Kahn will dominate his division and argue that Chris Eubank doesn't speak with a lisp

Retards here saying that Junior won't get much viewers? As MTF said, 3 million at worse and I would predict 6 million.

A great amount to see this liquidation and see Hatton get called out as the cowardly prick he is.

I don't know who I want to beat Witter more.. Bradley or Hatton

I really like Bradley and kinda hope he does it.. but then if he does we'll never see Hatton-Witter.. so Maybe Witter has to win this and look good to get Hatton then I want Hatton to STRETCH him

There is a good reason why Hatton has avoided Witter for 9 years, he would be the one stretched out in the ring.

After this fight, the pressure will be on him bigtime.

Lets see how the cowardly "man of the people" handles it.

You are truly crazy if you think Hatton fears Witter, but somehow didn't fear Money May.

I'm afraid that Bradley is going to spoil the party..

Witter is a bum and he'll get laid out if not by Bradley then by Hatton

On that Note, REED is Asking, Begging, PLEADING his Euro Fightbeat Brethren to Start a SPOILER Thread, til the American Broadcast Is Over...

That INCLUDES YOU, ATTRACTION...Please DON'T Bombard the Board w/"I Told U So", "What Next for Witter" Type of Threads, Cause U will have Seen the Fight Several Hours PRIOR to the American Posters...

For those of Us that R Genuinely INTERESTED N this Bout, it'd B Fucked Up to have the Outcome SPOILED...

    2 Words..."SPOILER THREAD"...

REED - no more g'days from you :flip:

That's filthy, neanderthal Aussie speak. Us brits do tend to say mate, but never shall ye hear a g'day from our fine species.

By the way REED, Attraction is invariably going to ignore the no spoiler requests, so if I were you, I would just stay off the boards on saturday, until you've seen the fight.

The card starts at 10:10 pm here REED, which is maybe 4 pm Texas time? I'm not sure whether you're 4 or 6 hours behind.

I am not sure if the main event starts first though.

REED was UNSURE when he Typed "G'day"...Sorry Brother Mex:lol: ...

& U're Right about Attraction...Part of his Allure is that he Plays By his OWN Rules...It'd B CRUEL & Unusual PUNISHMENT to Expect him to SIT on his Witter Lust, after the Fight...

So REED'll Probably just Ignore the Boards Altogether til After the Fights...REED Isn't Sure what the Time Difference is...Whenever a Euro Fight is Shown LIVE N the States (btwn 8-10pm CST), it's Usually 3-4am Over There...

By the Way, what's Up w/this Cat Carl Froch??...REED's Never Seen him Before, but he's on the U.S. Televised Portion of the Witter-Bradley Undercard...

I'm not sure about the times zones at all, but if it's in Vegas or LA, then the main event usually starts somewhere around 4 am here you're right.

New York I think is less of a gap, 4 hours compared to 6.

    Frock is rubbish

He's like a farmer with a decent punch. Ignore the hype.

 That's harsh on Froch, Mex...

Froch is a decent SMW prospect mainly on the ground that he has very decent power and seems a hardy type. At this stage, though, all he is is a prospect and no more than that (though no doubt Jim Rosenthal and the ITV boys will have him down for beating Kessler next time out ).

Its a shame that Inkin has pulled out, because that would have been a good step up for Carl and a chance to more accurately gauge his potential/progress. Instead, he's been hand fed a late bum for public consumption.

Other than that, and in answer to brother Reed, he's pretty much like a farmer...

Well I'd say he is a European level fighter, just a step above domestic level.

So I won't call him rubbish, I was exaggerating, obviously if you're a European level fighter, you're not rubbish.

But people who think he'd stand a chance against Joe or Kessler are off their nut.

    Andrade would batter Frock.

But in summary to brother REED, I felt a rubbish farmer with a punch was accurate enough :dunno:

    Unquestionably. Agreed on Andrade, too.

But Froch is still pretty green (I think 22 fights or so) so he has scope for improvement in the future. I could be wrong, I suppose (it would hardly be the first time...) :dunno:

I found the farmer analogy amusing. Harsh, but amusing, especially in light of Attraction's recent attempt on this board to declare him the next great 168lb-er...

Actually I will be working and will MISS THE FIGHT so I will not be posting.

The first Witter fight I am missing in 9 years but times are tough and money has to be made.

I'll be downloading the full fight the next day and I'll be staying away from the boards and my phone until then.

I honestly dont know how I will survive without the fight. I'm going to try to get them to turn it on in work. if they don't, I'm fucked.

Unless they announce otherwise today, it looks like Froch's bout was downgraded to possibly being shown in highlights. Witter-Bradley is the main go, with John Murray-John Fewkes as the co-feature.

Froch's a solid fighter, but is also a realist. He knows the clock is ticking, and is a bit frustrated at being unable to land big - or even particularly meaningful - fights. He must have a legion of haters, because he's being blamed for not stepping up, but last I checked it was his most recently scheduled opponent (dennis Inkin) who pulled out of the fight not once but twice.

For what its worth I did an article that is now up on (another site).

I've seen more of Bradley than Witter. Bradley is Shane Mosley-lite...doesn't have the chin, workrate, power or handspeed of Shane.

Bradley puts a ton of effort into his shots and gets minimal results even against the mediocre guys he's fought coming up. Bradley also fights with a tremendous amount of fire and tension early...a few well placed shots from Junior will get him thinking and once that happens, the nature of the fight changes.

Witter could stop him late, but I'm going with a UD for Junior.

Looks like Froch's fight is back on as co-feature, though he gets his third opponent change. He's now fighting Albert Rybacki. Never heard of him, all I know is that he's undefeated and from Poland.
