There was another recent example that I forget, but basically people tend to get their knickers in a twist over fast, somewhat flashy fighters.

Awesome speed doesn't a great fighter make, just look at Judah and many others.

I love a fast fighter as much as the next guy, but that seems to be a major factor in thinking a fighter is better than he really is.

Even more than power actually, as you often hear people saying "He can only punch" etc, but rarely "He's just fast".

It's more "He's teh faster!".

 

He actually reminds me alot of Guzman. He has the same punching style and body type as Joan. He is just way more agressive then Joan has been recently.

 

Thats why I mentioned all of this. My friend and I have been using Guzman as a model for Gamboa's outlook.

Gamboa is ridiculously talented. However he is Cuban so it's not to hard to believe what Tam says.

That in the end Jimenez is the one over the limit and Gamboa is 1.2 pounds under the limit.

 

Oooh, well, the weight was never the real story. Because he wa in a suit, it wasn't something he was sure on. Still, plenty of guys make weight in the last day or two of camp. Who knows.

Jimenez gave him a good test. I can see that Gamboa is dirty like Casamayor. He's very talented but there is something that makes him hard to like.
