HBO is now re-considering. Steve Kim reported the No Countdown news two days ago, and today alerted the masses that it now might happen after all.

Considering it's the only BIG fight for the next few months, not sure why HBO would NOT do it - that being a rhetorical comment/statement/question, as most of us already know the answer. But honestly, aside from Diaz-Pac (which is far more Pac event than it is an anticipated matchup), the summer's looking pretty damn bleak in terms of fights that will interest the masses.

Showtime's dancing as hard as they can, but those fights are pleasing to the hardcore fans. HBO has nothing but showcases from here to July 25, the least they can do is throw a bone to the summer's most notable fight.

I guess HBO feels the production costs of a Countdown aren't justified by the additionnal buys it could generate. :dunno:

    Bullshit...

It Go's w/Out Saying that a "Countdown" Show can Only HELP the Promotion N the Looooooooong Run...

Excluding DeLa, EVERY Fighter can BENEFIT from a "Countdown" Show...& Considering Cotto's BONE DRY Personality & Margarita's Mainstream ANONYMITY, this Fight would B the PERFECT Candidate for a "Countdown" Show...

    Logic 101:

To disprove an absolute statement, all it takes is one example.

"I'm not the best, I'm just willing to fight the best." - some lt. heavyweight champion

Modesty - The quality of having or showing a moderate estimation of one's own talents, abilities, and value.

"It Takes a Level of ARROGANCE to B a SUCCESSFUL Prizefighter, Not that YOUR Juvenile Ass has Been Around Looooong Enough to KNOW that..."

Another absolute statment (mixed in with some MTV calibur insults:bears:)

again to disprove all we need is one example...and since you claimed an age problem lets use JOE LOUIS, I believe you may have heard of him.

"By the Way, U've OFFICIALLY Beaten the Word "Decency" N 2 the Ground..."Recency" Springs to Mind, Cause U Need a NEW Crutchword, Homey"

Well considering the beating the english language has taken on your watch, I'd say reminding kind folk like yourself of virtue is...well...not something to shy away from.

By all means continue to be indecent and illogical in everything you think/say, I'm sure these character flaws only exist on the board and you're just a swell guy who has higher than a 3rd grader's vocabulary in real life.

As for me, I'll just go right back to...decency, as you were

glencoffe johnson wasn't being modest, he was being honest. he isn't the best L.heavy, yet he is willing to fight the best.

his level of arrogance is clear, when you consider his opinion on the verdict of his first fight with tarver.
