With the withdrawal of Coleman, the UFC acted swiftly, signing a new main event bout with welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre, fresh off winning the title at UFC 82, making the first defense of his second reign as champion when he faces No. 1 contender Jon Fitch. Roger Huerta and Kenny Florian will also square off at UFC 87. The bout, according to the promotion’s president, Dana White, will likely decide the next contender to the UFC lightweight title being contested on Saturday night at UFC 84 between current champion B.J. Penn and former champion Sean Sherk.
I know the UFC is trying to make even and compelling match-ups, but Lesnar needs to be worked up gradually if they want him to be successful. A Herring win isn't guaranteed though, O'Brien held him down all fight long.
Making the fight against Mir was ballsy but a pretty good call for Lesnar. Herring will kick his ass BADLY! No submission, KO!

Still a mismatch in my opinion. Herring has far too much MMA experience for Lesnar at this point. Dana must really not care about developing Brock. I wonder if back-to-back loses will make Brock a huge draw????
Lesnar probably should have joined a lesser organization first and fought ten bums in a year before going to the UFC. As it is his career could be as good as over within a year.
Yes, I mean Heath Herring has never ever seen Brock Lesnar types in his entire 12 year mma career. Big strong guys who try to pound you out on the ground. This is a very bad matchup for Brock this early in his career.
Yep, that's exactly why this match is being made. Herring has no ground game, Lesnar will man handle him.
Herring is a wrestler. Lesnar is a far better, far bigger and far stronger wrestler. Herring will get taken down and beaten up bad. Lesnar isn't going to stand with him.
All I can say is watch his fight with Orbien. Herring was completely and utterly schooled on the ground by a guy who couldn't even damage him.
You gotta give credit to Lesnar for not taking any easy fights. Mir\Herring is a pretty good back to back combo for an MMA veteran, much less a guy who's just starting out. TFK
I give him credit but I still think it's a mistake. However, if he destroys a 'real' guy like Herring, then it's marketing genius. ::
