I'm with you brother. I think he will eventually be able to hang with anyone at HW. He already punches well. He's already proven he's fearless. And I think he's just naturally a tough guy to get the ground given his build and strength.

Time will tell, but he would already be dangerous for anyone.

He hasn't had to deal with a legitimate fighter let alone a jiu jitsu blackbelt/submission fighter on the level of a Noguira or Gonzaga or Werdum. Then we'll see if he can back it up. Not crap like f*ckin' fatassed bar-brawler Tank Abbot. LOL!
He'll go to the ground quicker than you think. You're falling under the spell already based on 2 fights against Bo Cantrell and Abbott. Looks like Gary Shaw is doing a great job promoting Kimbo thus far. People are already buying the Kimbo hype.
Fearless my ass. Who the f*ck has he fought? Who? He would already be dangerous for anyone? And you know this how? His overmuscled ass will go to the ground very quickly when he gets put in there with a real fighter.
Hell, let's see him deal with a muay fighter who smashes his shins, legs, body and head with kicks, let alone a legitimate submission artist on the level of Mir or Barnett.
Kimbo is still just a hypejob. Ride the gravy train before it crashes and burns I say. Marketing 101.

Go back to the boxing section. You're out of your element on here. Actually forget that. The boxing section is out of your league too. Go to the TAAA section and post a video of a dog mauling a minor. Oh wait, you already did. Well then............uh.........:dunno:

Biggest hype job in the history of MMA. What a disgrace to have him on the cover of ESPN. What a slap in the face to all proven MMA fighters.

    True...

Whether Kimbo "Deserves" the Hype Isn't Really the Issue...The Hype He Gets Only HELPS MMA as a WHOLE...

Kimbo's like the MMA Version of Danica Patrick...There's PLENTY of Better Drivers than Her, but they ALL Benefit from the Level of ATTENTION She Brings to the Sport...

Somewhere Out There some Kid N Elementary School has been DRAWN to MMA BECAUSE of Kimbo & he'll B ATOP Lb 4 Lb Lists N 15-20 Years...

Guys like Kimbo Help to CULTIVATE their Sports...

Well we'll find out in 4 days just how much Kimbo has helped the popularity of MMA as you claim, Reedo! :crafty: I personally don't think he's done jack sh*t at all for Elite XC. 30 mill in losses? What help has he been? This is do or die, if they fail, CBS is gonna be on their asses like flies on sh*t, Elite better deliver or it's doomsday.

It's Awfully CONVENIENT to Blame Kimbo EXCLUSIVELY for Elite XC Losses, Hanzy...

How Many Elite XC Shows have there Been vs. How Many Kimbo has Headlined???...

There is no doubt that Kimbo has helped Elite XC. Losses may have been even worse without him.

Like I said, time will tell. But you cannot deny that he is a dangerous puncher and it's ridiculous to think that anyone can avoid getting hit at least a couple of times by Kimbo.

And I'm not falling under any spell. My take on MMA has always been that good strikers always have a shot. Kimbo has the punch to lay almost anyone out if he lands. And it's not like Nog, Gonzaga or even Fedor are untouchable while standing.

Let me say this again. I am always harping on what a great marketing job Shaw has done with Kimbo. In fact, I've probably said it a dozen times on here alone. That being said, there's a little steak behind the Kimbo sizzle as the dude CAN punch.

Sean Gannon! That is all I have to say to the Kimbo nuthuggers. A very average MMA fighter who couldn't make it in the UFC took Kimbos best best shots and kept on coming. As soon as Kimbo runs into someone who can take a punch he is in deep trouble. Especially if that person has any submission skills.

I wonder how much Ken Shamrock losing to Buzz Berry is gonna hurt EliteXC? Any way you look at it, Slice\Shamrock would've drawn more viewers then Slice\Thompson.

Ken Shamrock is a name non MMA fans are familiar with, nobody outside of the MMA world has heard of James Thompson.

And those of us who have heard of and have seen James Thompson fight know that he has possibly the worst chin in MMA.

It's funny, it got a little bit windy at the weigh in, and at one point the wind blew the background banner down. So I screamed out 'somebody better tell James Thompson to stay inside, if that wind hits his chin.....'

And Kimbo needed help from the ref to win the fight. Like a said, he is a disgrace to all legit MMA fighters. A real star of MMA should have been featured on the cover of ESPN. Someone like Anderson Silva or GSP or Penn. You know a real fighter who has PROVEN they can actually fight.

    Kimbo is a fucking bum.

As TFK said in another thread, Kimbo is only in his 3rd pro MMA fight. Don't blame him for the You Tube stardom that's made such a huge impact on his popularity. And don't blame him that ESPN put him on their magazine cover.

How is he a 'disgrace' to all legit MMA fighters? What has he done to be considered a disgrace. He had a tough fight. He didn't quit. He didn't whine. He's new to the game and struggled. There's no shame or disgrace in any of that.

The disgrace is people falling for this hype job and acting like at 32 years old Kimbo has all kinds of time to improve. The guy doesn't have enough time to improve as much as he needs to ad he'll never live up to the hype. NEVER!

Right now, I would pick Brock Lesnar to DESTROY Kimbo. That is how bad he is. James Thompson is a horrible fighter, and Kimbo proved what I already knew. He just plain sucks. His stamina is garbage and he can't even strike past the first round. He's so gassed that his punches have nothing on them. His ground game is laughable. I laughed every time he pulled guard. What was he doing? Trying to lose? You better have a good hold on that guillotine if you're going to pull guard like that or you end up on the bottom and with no submission skills what so ever, what can you do from there? Nothing! And that's exactly what he did from there. lol

He needs to go back the backyard brawling where he can pick bums off the street and KO them.
