Great job marketing Matt Brown like some kind of killer. I can say im not even scared of him and im half his size. He is total garbage.
How big are you Roy? And I agree. He was ridiculously overhyped. OK so he's a slightly serious dude, that doesn't make him a beast :: Scared little Amir ended up doing a number on him. I had a feeling Amir would win. He's tougher than he looks/sounds. I wouldn't say total garbage though, just pretty average, not even close to the beast they made him out to be.
The fighters have been so shitty UFC just cut their loses. No need to try and make bums stars. I would pay money to see Anderson Silva fight all of these bums 1 after the other. Im not sure if all 16 would last 1 round between them.
im in the minority but i like this season i dunno, i like some of the guys, perhaps its their personality i like amir, matt brown is cool (even if overhyped) theres a couple others quote of the season: "shakespeare said 'to thine own self be true', i dont know what the fuck that means, just dont quit on yourself" -FG
Season 1, by far. Just look at the names that came from it. Forrest, Diego, Leben, Swick, Florian, Koshcheck, Leben, Quarry, Bonner...that's not a bad bunch of fighters. TFK
the comeback season and the season where serra coached are fun, just to hear matt talk shit about hughes ill never forget chuck and franklin showing serra some technique and the look on his face, priceless ::
I had not watched at all this season until Spike ran the marathon this weekend. I am now caught up to date. The disappointing thing for me is that none of the guys this season have any submission skills. Dolloway is supposed to be decent on the ground, but I wasn't impressed with his first fight. I like Yarborough's stamina to really test Dolloway if they get into the 2nd Round. WTF was with the Matt Brown hype? "We have to tell him to go easy in training" or "We'll be telling our kids stories about Matt Brown"
Like I said, I think they were more concerned about having entertaining fights then quality fighters. Their M.O. was to bring in guys that are apt to stand and trade and out on a good TV show, rather then guys they can use to build toward the future. TFK
tim credeur has a black belt in BJJ also i think the thing with matt brown had more to do with some of the guys knowing him from outside TUF
OK--Thanks-- Processing the entire season in a single weekend. I figured I'd miss something about someone.
im personally enjoying this season maybe because i like more of the guys, personality wise theres less house footage because theres less drama id watch matt brown fight again, his 3 fights so far have been fun to watch i thought the amir fight was great
amir-dalloway should be fun jesse-credeur should be good as well, jesse is a strong wrestler and credeurs BJJ is smooth
i hope so, i like amir the jesse-credeur matchup should be interesting jesse is bigger and stronger but credeurs bjj is smooth
OK, after that pathetic basketball display, I think Rampage needs his Ghetto Pass revoked. Maybe I can interest him in a nice Pat Boone record? TFK
"He's out of the finals and out of the UFC." Now THAT was an unexpected twist. My first thought is Jesse got too drunk and cost himself his UFC contract, but somehow I don't think it's what it appears to be. I'm guessing it's a fighter that was supposed to fight on the undercard. TFK
At the end of the show, they're showing a preview of next week's show, and after a few clips of the CB\Amir fight, they cut to what looks like footage taken by a security camera of a limo pulling up to a parking space, then what looks to be someone kicking out the limo window from the inside. Then you get the quote from Dana White saying "He's out of the finale and out of the UFC". Hell of a cliffhanger. TFK
I was shocked at how uncoordinated Rampage is. I can't believe he fights as good as he does, he looked like such a goof playing basketball.
