Well thats bullshit. Before the movie they put up a caption trying to make it seem as if the event itself was true.

I forgot Denzel was even in Inside Man. American Gangster was okay but I won't rewatch it. It was a letdown. Everyone was expecting Scarface or Heat.

You thought Ethan Hawke's performance was solid? I thought it was the overall weakest point of Training Day. I felt Chris Evans supporting performance in Street Kings was way better than Hawke's in TD. Plus Evans appears to just be a much better actor than Hawke going off of his performance in SK and Sunshine. Only time Hawke has impressed me was in Gattaca and even then that might have been more from the story than from his performance.

    SEMI PRO

    GRADE - C

PREMISE - Ferrell is a semi pro basketball player who must get his team to 4th place so he can merge with the NBA.

CRITIQUE - The story shouldn't be what's important here, but when the comedy let's you down the story is what will keep your interest and really it's the reason this didn't get a lower score. I'm not a big Ferrell fan but I did lol watching this. I don't think it's nearly as good as the skating movie he did was and overall I think this got a bit too dramatical and less funny throughout but was still pretty good.

STRONG PERFORMANCES FROM - Andre 5000 of Outkast and Woody Harrelson although neither guy added much comedic value whatsoever.

    RECOUNT

    GRADE - A-

PREMISE - Chronicles five weeks between the Nov. 7, 2000, presidential election between George W. Bush and Al Gore and the December Supreme Court ruling that upheld Florida's count and gave Bush the White House.

CRITQUE - Outstanding movie with a strong performance from Kevin Spacey and Denis Leary. I think everyone should check out this movie as it shows you how things went and go on in an election. I loved how they showed both parties holding meeting and coming up with stratigies and counter stratigies for different situations, it was like watching 2 opposing sports teams coaches going at it. It also shows how much effort each team put into their fight and how strongly each team believed in it's party. It also showed how far some die hard voters will go to fight for their party damn near causing riots and swinging decisions in some instances. I started out disappointed this wasn't a documentary but probably less than 10 minutes into it I was glad it was what it was, a very entertaining movie that showed the hopelessness of our electorial process.

SEE IT ON - HBO and probably on HBO on Demand.

A perfect example of where Forrest out shines Denzel. Denzel bought his A game for this movie too, didn't just mail it in as his usual Denzel as a teacher here, he bought it. I still felt Forrest's performance not only outshined Denzel but was even better than Forrest's slightly overrated Oscar earning performance in The Last King of Scotland.

3/10---It gets a 3 for nostalgia alone, other than that it's :shit: I can't believe Cate Blanchett signed up for this crap. What a waste.

"Injured by a police inspector during an interrogation, Abdel is at a hospital, almost dead. In the suburbs where he lives, some riots happened during the night, and one policeman lost his gun. One of Abdel's friends, Vinz, finds it. Vinz and his two pals, Said and Hubert, have nothing to do so they try to kill time. Vinz swears that if Abdel dies, he will shoot a policeman..."

great French movie that has been compared to Do The Right Thing. It is about three young friends in a Parisian ghetto and the story takes place in a 24 hour period. I give it a 10/10.

I watched The Descent this weekend.

I thought the first half of the movie was pretty good...until the introduction of the blind creatures. I lost most of my interest in the flick after that and the last 30 minutes was a bit tiresome getting through.

Oh c'mon, "The Descent" was good. It was nice for once to see inbreeding in a horror movie didn't result in a cunning avoidance of the authorities and superstrength in dispatching of the victims.

If you were born blind in a cave and had to scavenge for your food you wouldn't be such a bad-ass either. :nono:

It was basically Wrong Turn underground...except they could crawl on walls despite a lack of being "bad-ass" and they had no vision.
