NEW YORK (June 3, 2008) - After dominating Paul Williams for 12 rounds and capturing the WBO welterweight title in convincing fashion, Carlos Quintana believes that he is still getting no respect.

I can't believe this! It's ok because Williams is going to get dominated again!

Quitana quit against Cotto, after that he lost all respect as a fighter. He could move up in weight and knock the shit out of David Haye and he will still be known as the guy who quit against Cotto.

Come in man. Quintana was a victim of circumstances. The guy us truly gifted and he can go on to do excellent work in the ring.... but Cotto is better. Unfortunately Carlos Quintana has to deal with two problems that will plague him forever:

    1) Quintana can't claim that he wasn't seasoned enough for Cotto. Quintana will not get much better.

    2) Cotto is just one of the best and stronger than Carlos will ever be. Bitter fruit to swallow but true. Cotto at his best is too strong for Qintana and always will be.

Quintana is very good and no shame in losing to Cotto... anybody would have gone down on that shot. But Carlos has no real way of defending against Cotto, thats the reality.

To some extent Carlos will always be the other premier Puerto Rican fighter that is active while Cotto is active.

Perhaps the general public feels Williams be better with a fellow southpaw this time. Last time he looked lost and confused against Quintana. I myself expect a smarter outing for Williams too. I do however expect Quintana to test his mettle and heart this weekend just the same. In spite of the last outcome I have this match a pickem.

Quintana's probably crying himself to sleep having lost the respect of a guy who puts "check out the naked men in the shower" on his to-do list when he visits the local gyms.

    I agree!

besides he is not rematching Cotto he is rematching Williams a guy he beat pretty convincing.

One fight has nothing to do with the other. He should be the favorite in this rematch with Williams.

It took me a second to get the reference:lol:. Well to Alabama there are Pinoy fighters then there is the riff raff. Somebody probably told him that Cotto shaved his eyebrows.
