To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if this became Benn-McClellan all over again (perhaps save for the tragic aftermath).
If this fight was at 160, then Miranda wouldn't have lasted four rounds. Benn would have fucking stretched the gobby motherfucker so badly he'd have resembled flat Stanley for quite a while. At 168, Benn would have survived a few scary moments on his way to a wide UD, after perhaps taking a count or two along the way and dishing a few out of his own. Either way, Edison is NOWHERE NEAR the level of NIgel Benn. Benn was an elite fighter. Miranda is a mouthy nomark. MTF
agREED. This fight is a brutal toss up. Both fighters get hurt, momentum shifts more than once and the winner can be decided by a coin toss. And if they fight 10 times, it's probably 5 wins for each...possibly 6 wins to 4 wins but each fight is exciting and close.
Yes he was. Benn was a bigger puncher, had better technique, faster hands, and was slightly LESS terrible defensively. Miranda is a poor man's Barkley, and we all know what Benn did to Iran.

Who or what the hell has Miranda ever done against anyone worth a light that doesn't involve talking boatloads of shit before losing? :dunno: Benn is nowhere near as bad as you think he is. His wins over Barkley, DeWitt and McClellan, as well as his draw against Eubank (which I thought he won) stand miles ahead of anything Miranda has done. Sure, Benn was limited. At 160 he relied almost solely on his punching power. There was a way to beat Nigel, as Waston (sound technically) and Eubank (sound technically and hard as nails pre-Watson II) proved and RJJ would have certainly shown. BUT Miranda is nothing like that. He just punches hard and that's it. I doubt he punches anywhere near as hard as Benn did at 160. He couldn't fight the way he'd need to to beat Benn and he hasn't beaten anyone of the calibre of Benn. This would be an all out slugfest, and in a slugfest, the harder puncher would usually prevail. Benn would brutally knock Miranda out after a handful of crazy, KD filled rounds. MTF
