That's what I was thinking

There's always at least one person to make such a preposterous pick.

Lockett is a freaking 25-1 underdog!

I wonder if anyone here placed a bet just for the value.

Not yet, but i'm going to.

And i'm basing my logic on the following:

    1 when i last saw Lockett, about 7 years ago, he KO'd someone and the commentator said he could bang;

    and

2 I've never seen Kelly Pavlik. Ergo he may be shite for all i know.

A tenner on Lockett will net me 250 notes.

    Sound.

You've never seen Pavlik fight? And you call yourself a boxing fan? :kidcool:

Take a look at Kelly's record, and some clips on youtube. He has KO wins over Zertuche, Zuniga, Miranda and Taylor, and he is undefeated.

It's not really that difficult to ascertain that he is not shit.

You're always going to find the best odds at a bookie...the only thing is, you gotta know who you're dealing with, cos they're liable to take off if you run into them deep.

Well we don't have this "bookie" market here in Germany and i always thought the best odds are available online.

Can't believe you get those at "bookies"... :crying:

You'd have it there, mate. They're just not the kind of people to have an ad in the paper.

You get decent odds online, but they're never going to beat a bookie, because everything is guaranteed online. Thats what insurance is for. Bookies? HA! Thats why you need to know the guy before handing over the cash.

Always wanted to run a little racket @ my uni. Could clean alot of saps out. :warning:

well if you're giving 33 on Locket you're doing something wrong or you are flat out planning on keeping the cash anyways...

The bookie market here is definitely not as big as in England.

You see lil stores when u go through the streets there... i've seen none of that here besides a few times in Berlin and those are mostly turkish dudes who only cover soccer and stuff...

If you're giving 33-1 on Lockett, it means you've been pounded on Pavlik and need to recoup some cash. Thats all.

Tam, seriously who are these bookies you speak of? I come from England, and have mostly lived in London and Brighton - both fairly sordid, seedy places, and I've never come across these secret, shady, back alley bookies.

    CURTIS COKES' Birthplace...
    Pavlik KO 4

Even if Lockett "Surprises" Pavlik w/his POWER or Ballsiness, it WON'T Matter...Kelly Pavlik is as BATTLE TESTED as they Come...Zuniga & Taylor DEFINITELY Tested him & the Zertuche & Miranda Fights weren't Quite as EASY as Kelly Made them Look...

Pavlik's a TOUGH, AGGRESSIVE Motherfucker who Looooooooves to Exchange...If Lockett's a So-Called "Banger", then we'll have FIREWORKS for a Couple Rounds...But N the End, Pavlik will Overcome...He's MORE than just a "Banger"...

    Ponce KO 6

Is there a BETTER PURE Puncher N Boxing than Ponce DeLeon???...Sure, he's CRUDE, AWKWARD & Has Little to NO Actual SKILL Level...But that Little Bastard can CRACK...

& he's Been on a WORLD CLASS Level for a Few Years Now...Juan Ma is UNPROVEN N this Regard...& even if he's OUTBOXING Ponce for Several Rounds, @ SOME Point he's Gonna Get CHIN CHECKED...& When he Does, Juan Ma will FAIL that Test...

    Quintana UD Williams

Like REED Said N Another Thread, he Expects Quintana's SPEED, LEFTY Stance & COUNTERPUNCHING to 1nce Again TROUBLE Williams, but to a LESSER Degree...

The RE will B Closer, but Quintana will Still B a CLEAR Winner...Although REED Expects Williams to Cry "Robbery" After the Fact...

    Forrest UD Mora

Mora is SLIGHTLY Bigger (REED Thinks) & SLIGHTLY Quicker, but those R his Only Advantages...Forrest has PROVEN he can BEAT Superior Speed Against Sugar Shane...

Mora DOESN'T hit Hard Enough to Make Vernon RESPECT him, so REED is Expecting a More AGGRESSIVE Boxer-Puncher Performance Out of Forrest...He'll BEFUDDLE Mora w/his Jab & Look to Drop Repeated Right Hand Grenades on him...REED's OFFICIAL Pick is Forrest by UD, but it Wouldn't Surprise REED @ All if Vernon STOPPED him Late...
