Anybody have an opinion on the phrase Jim Lampley used last night?

We all know what nuts Lampley wants now that Floyd and Oscar are done.

    It's a fair statement.

He's got a fan-friendly style, a huge punch, a great record, and a likable personality.
I don't think he beats Calz and I don't consider Abraham a sure win for him, at all, but let's say he beats both of them on HBO. We are talking super-star, cross-over popular. And it's within the realm of possibility. So Lampley's statement is fair, imo.

The Compubox guy certainly loves Pavlik. Pavlik didn´t land more punches than Lockett in round one, let alone 38. That was straight up bullshit. Pavlik probably won the round by stunning Lockett, but you could tell they were in straight up cock-sucking mode from the first minute.

Compubox is just the most ridiculous thing ever. Seriously.

Like it or not, Kelly Pavlik has the potential to be the face of US Boxing for a long time. We shall see. But I agree with your assessment regarding the nuthugging. It was freaking Gary Locklear he was in against, for the love of God.

Yes, Pavlik landed more punches. Locket landed 1 clean right hand, and that was it.

I rewatched the fight today, not a chance lockets landed more punches in round 1. All he was hitting was gloves, apart from 1 right hand, where kelly smiled at him afterwards.

Kelly landed numerous jabs and right hands, a couple of body shots, and stunned lockets with a 1-2 towards the end of the round.

Seriously, you need to wash the bratwurst out of your eyes if you think locket landed more punches. He landed fuck all, even the british commentators knew it. If lockets landed more, the brits would have been all over it like shit to a blanket.

    Yep...

Pavlik BROUGHT the Fight to Lockett, Lockett ONLY Looked to COUNTER as Pavlik INITIATED Exchanges, & Despite that, Pavlik BLOCKED Most of Lockett's Incoming...Pavlik Did a VERY GOOD Job of Putting his Gloves to the Sides of his Head, to BLOCK the Incoming...

Sure, it was ONLY Gary Lockett, but it was GOOD to See that Pavlik RESPECTED the Possibility of Lockett HURTING Him, so he was HONEST Defensively...

    2.42 clean right hand.
2.25 clean left jab to the body.
    1.56 clean right hand.
1.45 clean left jab to the body.
    1.35 clean left jab.
    1.31 clean right hand.
    1.26 clean right hand.
0.53 clean left jab to the body.
0.19 clean left hook to the head.
0.10 clean left hook to the body.
    0.08 clean straight right hand.

That is only the clean punches, so maybe if you would remove your head from Pavlik´s ass you could actually see what is happening in the ring. In the first round it was Pavlik, who was mainly hitting the gloves, the one time he landed cleanly he slightly stunned Lockett.

elterrible you and I agree on alot of things, but idk about this one.

Pavlik landed alot of punches. The forehead is a scoring zone, and with that in mind I wouldn't be surprised by 40+ punches in the first or throughout the fight. He put an absolute beating on Lockett

I can't believe you did took the time to do something like this for such an inconsequential and uncontroversial fight.

Lockett did pretty well in round 1, I was also of the impression that if not for the forehead crunch that stunned him, Lockett could have taken that round,.. that swerving compact counter-punch style can be a real cunt to a taller fighter trying to lead,... but Pavlik did the right thing in round 2,..smacked the body, and it was all over from there.

I did it to shut up the fanboy Mexican Wet T-shirt, besides I downloaded three GBs worth of fights to watch 5 rounds. :bangh::bangh: So watching round one again didn´t really hurt.

I didnt see any drastic issue with the compubox stuff in round 1. Pavlik landed a lot of little shots.

Maybe Compubox had Lockett landing 40 punches then. They never showed his numbers, but to suggest Lockett landed one clean punch the whole fight is ridiculous. I had to dare and challenge Wet T-Shirt, although he is always right and never wrong, just misunderstood.

Compubox had Lockett with 13 in the first round, I think.

Yep, which is reasonable, 10 of which didn't land clean, and only partially on Kelly's gloves.

Your silly post did nothing to prove anything El Terrible, it only proves you've got shit in your eyes.

Most of the times you listed show Gaz hitting Kelly's gloves.

Do you need glasses? Seriously, are you short sighted etc? The punches certainly landed in the vicinity of Pavlik's head, but most of them on Pavlik's gloves, protecting his face, NOT clean on pavlik's face.

And like Tam just said, Pavlik landed a lot of little effortless jabs and right hands, and a couple of body shots too.

Eye test for you, bratwurst boy.

What I will say, is that I didnt see a drastic difference between the two in round one, in terms of punches landed. I can see Pavlik being credited with those punches. No issue there, as long as the same is true on the other side of the fence.

THe 40-13 thing did seem a little drastic to me. No biggie though. No sane individual thinks twice about punch stats or uses them for justification anywho.

Whatever fanboy, I had no problem watching the round again to prove my point, guess all you got going for you is the name-calling without the evidence. Those were not glancing blows it were clean counterpunches, when Pavlik was late pulling his jab back, but whatever you want to believe.

It's not what I want to believe, it's what happened.

It's not like I am trying to prove my point that Kelly deserved the decision

He massacred lockets, end of story, if lockets landed more punches in round 1 I would admit as much.

I don't know if you just dislike pavlik a lot, or you have bad eyesight as I suggested, or you're just a bit slow :dunno:

    Your time Array is pointless.

I could do that for any given fight, and make up punches that land when they didn't, it doesn't make it true.

Who cares. Lockett is a scrub, he quit like a bitch after being dominated.

    End of story.

Me too, but it's far from a sure thing. Both the fight actually getting made and Pavlik winning it. I'd love for it to happen though.

I think it's possible it can be made and it's VERY possible that he could stretch him
