I remember discussing with the fellas after the fight how that fight was scored 116-111 and 115-112 which was pretty much how everyone at Jaws house had it. 113-114 which was Adalaide Byrd's card was off. I saw the scorecard and watched some of the rounds this judge basically just gave to Hopkins.

 

No case can be made for Hopkins, none at all. He did fuck all but land the ODD counter right. Admittedly they landed flush, but 1 counter right hand doesn't equal 10 of slappy's punches.

Joe won 9 rounds of that fight, and I was rooting for Nard.

 

I think 9 may be a bit generous, but I agree it's hard to see a scorecard for Bernard. His punches were harder and I think that did come across more ringside, but Calzaghe was simply busier and I do think he did some good work in the late middle rounds...and it's my belief he he would've won much more convincingly if Hopkins didn't get a respite from the low blow, because he was starting to really get into a rhythmn and Hopkins was slowing down considerably.

 

To say Bernard won only three rounds is just...ridiculous. Heck, say four - that sounds better. I guarantee only you and Mrs. Calzaghe saw Joe winning nine rounds and I'm beginning to wonder if you and her are the same person.
